Defour would be an excellent signing, And he doesn't play much for FCP anymore so could be a go'er, Still hope the Fer deal gets done.

Hope we sign fer/other cm
Butland like the other guy said
Some cover for rb.

From that article it still says the the door is slightly open for Fer, something for the fans to think about even if it is the Daily Mirror.

Is that Negredo any good?

Negredo is a finisher in a similar way that Jelavic is. I don't see them building a partnership together so he's not someone i'd see Moyes going for at present - unless he's ready to give up on Jelavic which I severely doubt (unless the rumour I heard out of the blue about Jelavic tonight turns out to be true!!!)

I'd imagine we need a wide player, a centre mid or someone to play behind jelavic before we need another striker (depending on what Moyes plans to play Fellaini and Mirallas)

The way Elstone was talking about Fer today, saying he'd be a player that would make an instant impact on the team, and the same with Moyesy yesterday and tonight after the game, about him being a really good player etc, etc, i just find it hard to believe we would give up on him so easy and i still believe this is a tactic by us to panic Twente into selling him to us on our terms?!!.

Even THT said to me tonight that he thinks its unlikely unless Twente panic into selling and i think there's still legs in this one, i think we might have a change of heart and just take a chance on him, cos IMO, he's worth it definitely!.

Was talking about this in the pub before the game, stranger things have happened.

Twente have now got a player who is KNOWN to have a knee issue, and who was ready to leave. They've had to put off the two transfers they were ready to bring in, and they're stuck with a player whose heart may not be in it.

I think they'll struggle to sell him for more than we were offering tbh, after this saga.

Reckon his agent will be piling on the pressure to push a sale through tomorrow.

Stranger things have definitely happened on transfer deadline day.

I would not be remotely surprised if we U-turn on that. The deal is all but set up with the player and could be resurected at any point tomorrow.

I'd be surprised if we don't end up with Fer to be honest. Think the clubs are both just doing their negotiations publicly and trying to out bluff each other. SSN will be lapping it up all day tomorrow like they did with Moutinho to Spurs which was on/off/on/off/on/off last deadline day.

problem is that it looked like they were selling so they could fund other transfers - they might still need to do that before they sold him to us
