Just because a team has a bigger wage bill doesn't mean they're a better team, could just as easily mean they're paying huge wages for average players.

Some of the RS biggest earners: Henderson £100k
Sturridge £120k
Wijnaldum £90k
Mane £120k
Milner £120k
Firminio £100k
Lucas £80k

Matip £110k
Sakho £75k
Lovren £65k
Clyne £70k
Lallana £120k
Coutinho £150k

Even fringe player like Markovic and Ings are on £60k each, Moreno £40k, even some of the even more crappier players who never get near the squad are picking up £25k a week. Klopp's on £7.5m a year as well.

Beat me to it mate, on top of that we are tight as hell. Coleman is probably still on about 45/55 a week for somebody who's consistently been in the top full backs in the league for the past 5 years. Of course he's been out of form in that time but still. We are lucky he's humble and not chasing the money

They are in the title chasing bunch and we are not. Q.E.D for me.

Gas that Henderson actually gets paid to play football

The above figures are the respective wage bills at Liverpool and Everton. Their wage bill is almost exactly twice as big as ours. Ours is a couple of million bigger than West Ham and Stoke.

Do we expect Stoke to win at a club paying almost £166 million annually? No. Why expect it of Everton?

We fondly cling to the idea that the two Merseyside clubs are equals in stature and importance. They're not. Liverpool are a far bigger and better resourced outfit than we are and tough though it is for us to admit it they will remain so. We need to stop obsessing about them and start to accept reality.
Codswallop.
They also spent £30m on Andy Carroll. Just because they're daft enough to pay daft wages doesn't make them or anyone else untoucable.
They have good quality attackers who exploited our patched up team and aging CBs.
They deserved the win, we were poor. The energy and aggression of Schniderlin and Coleman was a big miss. We all know where the squad needs improving and so does the manager, we can't spend £100m a transfer window, it will take a bit of time. By all means be angry and dissapointed with the 'performance', then move on.

Our highest earners Lukaku £90k, Bolaise next on £80k.
Williams £75k
Baines £70k
Mirallas £70k
Barry £60k

then there are a few on between £40/50k a week.

Even Milner earns £30k more a week than our highest.

Exactly mate, in terms of importance to our team our players wages are all over the shop. We have a mix of new players we brought in with new money and older established players who signed contracts under our previous regime which kind of skews our wage figure. You'd have to hope through moving some players on, bringing in new talent, improving the contracts of those we want to keep, increased commercial and match day revenue in 2/3 years our wage budget and squad balance will mimic or be more competitive with those we are trying to compete with

I think that point is inarguable.

I see flak ahead from some mate.

Spot on pal. Like I said on a few other threads the witch doctor n your man from the favelas' r the only two players they have that I rate.rest of them despite their undeserved ridiculous salaries would struggle to get their game for my old Sunday league team back in the day

He's on sixty mate (which is ironically what he cost!) but I get your point. Spot on
