    2025/26 Jack Grealish

Good post. I like him too. But the obsession with signing him at any cost on here is nuts. There's no rush. City are desperate to get shut and no other side is paying the wages we've been paying - not even close. I just can't remember the games this season where I've thought 'yeah got to keep...

Teams can carry one player without pace. If we want to build a side around Grealish he has to be at 10 with three flyers ahead of him to stretch the game and two monsters behind him to cover the ground he’ll leave. Putting him ahead of the slowest left back in the world, with McNeil Ndiaye KDH...

The other thing was that - apart from Lukaku (who's fee was settled later at the end of the season IIRC) - that team was assembled with not that much money spent on it. Iraola has got B'mouth into pole position for a Euro spot this season after selling a lot of talent last summer and even the...

...Both the football played and the hope it gave. Seeing us have great senior pros like Jagielka, Coleman, Baines with young players in Lukaku, Stones, Deulofeu, Barkley really made me think we were going to properly kick on as a club. The first four games of the 20-21 season under Ancelotti...

    Summer transfer window.

You'd worry a bit about the age and cost but he'd be the best striker we'd had since Lukaku if we did get him.

...- real fork in the road moments were a different manager would have completely altered the trajectory of the club for years [we had a spine of Lukaku, Barkley, and Stones around that time, with a weak goalkeeper]. Name a bigger fraud in world football than Roberto Martinez. Ronald Koeman? Yes...

I do. He isn’t a good manager. He wanted Denba Ba. If he’d of had his way we’d of been worse and the Slippy G incident wouldn’t have happened.

...that. He's also done it again within 12 months. Not bad is it? Better managers on this forum though. Still yet to get their opportunity somehow. Martinez first season was awesome. The signing of Lukaku pivotal. Our best signing since kanchelskis. Still don't understand how it went so badly wrong.

turns out Baines and Pienaar weren't that good. and Lukaku was only any good in his pomp. :/

New Everton Owners: The Friedkin Group

I think you have summarised the chaos of the early days of the Moshiri era quite nicely, except I would not call Onyekuru a joke of a signing. He had trouble getting a work permit when we signed him and couldn't join the club immediately, meaning he got sent out on loan to Anderlecht. Whilst the...

    2025/26 Jack Grealish

The difference between Lukaku and Grealish is that the former was in his pomp here and scoring for fun - and assisting with a lot of goals; Grealish is a fading star and we shouldn't be fawning over him and his declining talents. Dont get me wrong, I like what he does when it comes off and I...

...know how anyone could have done that. Having said that 2017 summer was the summer that caused more problems than any and it was ridiculous. Lukaku was sold and replaced by Sandro. Deulofeu was sold and was replaced basically by no-one. We actually lost four wingers that summer and signed...

...I'm pretty sure he picked, Bolasie maybe. And we were really unlucky with Bolasie, he had like five assists in a few months, mostly for Lukaku before getting injured and never really getting over it. Keane, no idea who signed him ultimately and while he has been crap for long periods he will...

Moyes - should he stay or should he go?

I disagree Davek as Moyes loves a big unit and Lukaku was certainly that

Moyes - should he stay or should he go?

As mentioned in another thread, he signed Beattie, Johnson and Yakubu, all who were relatively prolific forwards. His man management of them however, I agree, could have been better.

Moyes - should he stay or should he go?

Moyes has never had great record of signing good centre forwards, so he probably wouldn't have gone near Lukaku.
