Match Thread Everton v Rotherham. Sat. 9th Jan, 2021. 12.00. FA Cup 3rd round

It’s weird because it says ‘prem rugby’ but then you get the option

On football and identity: what does it mean to be a female Muslim football fan?

Well the counter argument is that feminism is simply the rationale that both sexes have equal rights - no one can argue against that surely? And the annoying thing about your position is that you're suggesting that millions of women have a weird anti male agenda when in reality you're talking...

On football and identity: what does it mean to be a female Muslim football fan?

Like a lot of modern feminists (brown or otherwise), there's a militancy in their preaching. A distrust of men in general, entirely unfounded by reason. But we being the reasonable men we are should just calmly debate, rather than clash. In time, even the most ultra of feminists will calm down...

    Teachers' Strike!

You're spot on. Race to the bottom indeed. Train drivers are paid too much! Teachers have far too much annual leave! It's the Daily Mail effect. The gains made by trade unionism being undermined by those who should benefit from it. It's so depressing.

    Teachers' Strike!

I'm a secondary school English teacher. The kids I teach have me for 3 hours a week. That's normal. How can you base performance related pay on that? What I do in the classroom is nothing compared to the time they have at home. If their parents read to them, restrict TV and Internet access etc...

    New Everton Crest Confirmed

I'm going to cut the badge of the current kit and sew it on the new kit, over this grotesque eyesore. We should all do the same. I'm not sure what it'll achieve but I'll feel better.

    Bolton 1-2 Everton. 26th Jan @ 15.00.

It was quite a way to mark David Moyes's 500th game in charge. A substitution of counterintuitive brilliance took Everton into the last 16 of the FA Cup. Being held by Bolton, the Scot removed supposedly his premier goalscorer, Nikica Jelavic, introduced, another defender, in Johnny Heitinga...

    School Closures.

I'm a teacher in a secondary school in London. God, it was hard work today. You can't let the kids throw snowballs because there's always the chance that it'll escalate into a punch up or someone will lose an eye. Trying to teach them bloody Shakespeare this afternoon was like having teeth...

    Favourite away ground

I went to Oxford v Exeter a couple of weeks ago with my mate from Devon. We took our bikes - it's brilliant. You come out the station and cycle four miles straight down the river to the ground. There are pubs everywhere and it was like being on holiday. Hopefully we get them in the FA cup...

5 Star Albums - The Killers - Hot Fuss

Alio, There's no better place to watch a gig than Brixton Academy. Downstairs, obviously. I saw pulp there last August and then suede a week or two later ( I'm so old). It's such a brilliant venue
