Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Yeah good day at the cricket. Nothing in it for the bowlers but good weather and a few pints.

Met up with a few Evertonian mates and universal apathy about prospects for next season.

2 really good friends who have had season tickets for 27 years aren't renewing.
The lads I used to go the game with stopped their's last season. They never missed it during covid and realised it had become more of a habit than an enjoyable enterprise. I stopped going when we appointed Allardyce and then let one of my friends take over my season ticket. I had made a conscious decision to move down to Cornwall by that stage so it wasn't purely a football decision in fairness.

I mentioned this on another thread , the BBC wanted to use our house to film Chrissie’s story because you could see the back yard from the front door. When my mum found out it was Alan Bleasedale she sent the researcher packing, “I’m not having anything to do with him, nothing but swearing in his programmes”.
In fairness your old mum was spot on?

Just a brilliant series, captured the politics and personal plight of the day perfectly, one of my good mates was an extra in it and appeared in 2 or 3 of the scenes, notably when Yozzer met Souness he said it took ages to film that scene because they were all corpsing.
Haha I've just saved myself a Je suis Fred. Great scene "You look like me don't you"?

I have him on ignore , I just can't be arsed.
At one stage I had over 80 posters on ignore and very few threads made any sense. So I removed them and now just tend not to read their posts. It helps that I rarely post in the Everton forum now and don't even lurk in the current affairs one.

I now only have one poster on ignore. Somebody who would argue with a mirror and still expect the last word.

I didn't sleep great last night. Nothing to do with the heat, the evenings and nights down here are quite fresh due to the coastal breezes. No, my cold has now developed to the tickly cough stage. It's such a pain in the arse. Plus it stops me going out too as people look at you as if you have 2 heads in these covid times.

I did a big shop yesterday, probably my first for over a month due to my going away, and boy did I notice the difference in shop prices. Anyway, I replenished my supplies and of course bought plenty of BBQ food. I just need to make sure what goes in the freezer is done properly this time . Yes, that old chestnut LT. I'm having a prawn salad for lunch, one of my faves.

Weather a bit overcast and cooler this morning but the sun's out again now and it's going to be nice for the rest of the day. There was a small risk of rain but that seems to have evaporated now. Anyway the forecast is for mid 20s by the weekend, which is quite hot for down here. I don't envy the rest of you guys with your plus 30s.

Anyway, if this cough goes off me I fancy a trip into Falmouth to catch a river cruise along the Fal or Helford. It's just for about 2 hours but it's a nice way to deal with the extra heat around. Another way of course is to go sea swimming which no doubt I'll be doing too over the next week.

Looks like the neighbour has lost all his confidence with the boat following his recent crash. The daughter is now back from taking them back over to Guernsey, and apparently all the time she was there he didn't take the boat out of the marina once despite the weather being perfect. They were intending to be away all of July cruising along the Normandy coast, but I believe he has already sailed it back to the UK and is now on his way to Brighton where he has decided to moor it whilst it's up for sale. They're coming back Sunday night so I'll probably have them both round for a BBQ over the weekend before the parents get back. I'll have a bit more choice than sausages this time though.lol

Stay well everybody and keep cool during these hot times. Looks like Dubai temperatures in some parts of the country.

Letitia asked me to ask you Fred ,did she mention a glacé cherry wrapped in a bacon slice on the BBQ .Quite the sweet salty taste and very moorish .
