Keeping hold of Fellaini

What the hell has Redondo got to do with anything its like saying Rooney is crap because hes not as good as Pele,i am talking about here and now Mascherano went for about 30m and there is know way he is twice the player of Fellaini

I think we will have to agree to disagree about his talents, if you think its not worth fighting tooth and nail to keep him then we will just go around and around in circles
Yeah I'll agree to disagree. If it was a choice between selling Rodwell or Fellaini - I would sell Fellaini everytime.

Although you also would have to look at Keane, Rijkard, Matteaus and quite possibly Essien.

All great players, but Redondo to me was a class apart. So slick on the ball, a defensive midfielder but so creative and could be ruthless when needed to be. His turn on Henning Berg at Old Trafford stands out to me as the single best move in football in that decade:

Dare i ask why?
Because i still believe he will be one of the best midfielders in the country and because he will be the box-to-box midfielder that Fellaini never will be.

Now don't get me wrong I still think Fellaini is a good player, but limited. Sort of like a specialist, incredible good at breaking up play but not much else.

I cant argue with that because its your view, but on what i have seen so far he is a long long long way off being one of the best in this country

What is it that has made him stand out for you?

His composure on the ball, they way he can explode into a run and his shooting ability. Nothing we saw much of last season, but I'm hoping he will cement his place in the team.

But hey I'm prepared to sell most of our midfielders for the right price and only think that offers for Osman (he is too valuable compared to what we would get for him) and Cahill (you don't sell your legends) should be twarted.

He has had chances to cement a place last season but dident take it

He was shocking last season for someone who is supposed to have the football world at his feet went missing in games and looked unintrested

Would you rather a fully fit Rodwell or Fellaini in the side with what you have seen of them

i have yet to see rodwell dominate a game, impose himself on the midfield, fellaini ,yes. but look at others the same age, wiltshire, now he looks like he has,not only the ability, but the ambition and drive to use it. sadly, we have yet to see that with rodwell. if someone offered £15m that would get them rodwell, it would take a lot more to tempt me into selling fellaini though.

I would take Fellaini over Rodwell every time, for me Jack does not have the desire and hunger to take on games he seems to shy away.

Yeah, Fellaini over Rodwell any day for me too.

Think Rodwell is a terrific prospect, but compared to others around his age (Wilshire) he's not there yet.

If we keep hold of him, i think he really needs to cement a position in midfield. For me, I think he'd be better in a holding midfield position, breaking up the play with Fellaini, allowing space for Arteta and Osman to be creative.

But, if it came to selling one, which I believe it unfortunately will,if someone offers 15-25 million for Rodders, I'd snap there hand off. At this stage, I think that when on form, Fellaini is key to our midfield, the player who glues it all together and allows the playmakers some room.

At this stage, Rodwell (for me) can't do that, and we need the money for a 20 goal a season striker (Falcao, Sow etc) and a winger like Donovan or Jarvis -- preferably Donovan, along with a steady, young replacement for Rodwell (Barkley from the academy) and maybe a back up striker -- can't see Saha lasting much longer and Beckford needs competition.

Also, selling players like Bily, Saha, Yak and Yobo could get us in 10-15 million.

Our squad needs refreshing, not overhauled entirely, but something different.
