I will give his due
He is quite persistent and not letting his head wobble
However I don't think he quite realises that we have seen his ilk come and go over the years
At this stage he is trying harder to convince himself than us of the need to finish the season
The meltdown when it eventually happens will be as glorious as anything we have seen on here

Point here is due to virus, anything and everything can change now, same solution could be one considered if this season is void and there is no football til next spring

Makes me laugh the line about not following Europe, you can imagine that can’t you:

All of Europes Leagues: unfortunately we are going to have to null and void.

Prem: no we are gonna continue because one team is miles ahead and the media are desperate for them to win the title, so we will start our new season towards the end of 2020.

Rest of Leagues: Oh, ok, so you are accepting that none of your teams will be in either the Champions League or the Europa League then, ok good luck with that.

Yes exactly this. Add in though, Relegated team x,y & zs legal teams;

End result, PL will be used until they are bust.

That course of action is not feasible for them. Hence why they are striking a far more cautious tone.

i think it is all about when it's agreed. You can negotiate a one off 19 game season in advance, but I dont think you can tell your paymasters after the horse has bolted.

The point still stands though, we are losing half a season to get money for 1/4 of the season. It makes no financial sense.

That's before you factor in the enormous can of worms you receive from shortening a season.

It will not be in clubs interests to do this, to further spread the contagion into future seasons. They wont want to vote for that, which is fair enough.

2 things. UEFA have already ruled out gifting titles to people who haven't earned them.

Secondly mid July is going to be impossible with transfers. Also bear in mind Italy tends to start later, so for us it would have to be done by the start of July. That time window is now all but gone.

No one know when this is going to end but listening to so called health experts they are saying social distancing will need to be in place for a considerable length of time. With this in mind how can they then allow games to be played even if its behind closed doors...

As far as im aware no major leagues have made any decisions yet.

I was sure I read some where they had.
