Time to Protest.......???????

Next time we perform that poorly at Goodison and the ref blows for halftime, we should all go dead silent, like "Mark of respect" silent.

Pin drop silent. It cost nothing but shows what we think of what we saw on the pitch.

No booing, no clapping, no singing, just dead silence. Get the announcer in on it too and pretend his equipments not working...

Just think all the cameras filming the crowd and were all standing there in dead silence, staring. Epic.

I don't think it's ever been done. It will make the news if done correctly, and the whole world would know that we are not satisfied as fans, because Nil Satis Nisi Optimum is our history, no matter how good certain journos paint us as being a model club who others should look at and clap with both hands.

That would move mountains mate. Nice touch indeed.

The difference between the RS and Utd, the Chairmen could hide in America, Ashley gave in and put the Club up for sale.

Did he?

On 14 September 2008 Ashley made a statement announcing he had put the club up for sale. In his statement, Ashley stated "I have listened to you. You want me out. That is what I am now trying to do."

So maybe if we protest enough we can get an official announcement that the club is for sale -- then we can all sit around for two + years while nothing happens.

If Newcastle is one of the success stories of fan protests (not sold after over two years and relegated) I'm not sure why anyone wants to bother.

That's not true. Hicks and Gillette had no trouble in finding third parties to stand behind them to refinance them - such as the Blackstone Group - but they were inundated with a blizzard of bad PR if they agreed to help H&G. RBS had to step in - who themselves were under the cosh from fan campaigns.

Right so banks, who almost bankrupted the world from their own greed and then just a little bit later see nothing wrong with going ahead with hundreds of millions in bonuses despite massive public outcry in the US and UK ... you want me to believe those same banks were scared of some backlash from RS supporters.

Even if I accept that version of events it doesn't change the fact that it was the banks (not the owners) who caved. The owners (well at least one of them) did not want to sell. The protests did not convince the RS owners to sell, did not convince the Glazers, and as for Newcastle evidence would suggest that either a) Ashley isn't really trying to sell Newcastle or b) There is nobody out there who wants to buy a mid-table club (at best) that people outside of the UK don't know (in which case we're screwed anyway -- I know we have a better history than Newcastle but evidence suggests nobody in Abu Dhabi knows their history). So I'm not sure the recent evidence of success at convincing owners to sell with protests is all that strong.

And, even if I did think protests were a good idea, I'd still say you'd need to hit the bottom line by not giving them match-day revenue rather than just waving some scarves and singing some songs (or being completely silent).

You're also forgetting that this is a public owned bank and that questions were being asked in parliament about the Liverpool situation. If they could avoid the political pressure and the consumer lobbying of the Liverpool supporters by taking another route to secure their interests then they'd take it...which they did. The devil's in the detail on that dispute.

Bottom line: anyone who thinks that absentee landlords at Everton are in an unassailable position and untouchable are kidding themselves.

The boos should have had some sort of impact on these nuts including Moyes but it doesn't seem to be the case so unless 70% of evertonians come to games with such banners of frustrations, I don't think the board or Moyes for that matter will be arsed to do anything.

Any need for that ? I think your talking sht ,I think you´ve jerked your knees up round your head so far that your head popped up your own @rse ,Protest ...........ffs. but thats just my opinion.

Mate, this is not knee jerk. look at our situation. if your happy with this. I guarantee your under 25 and have never seen a top Everton side. This is ****e whats happening right now. An the more people like you that except it, the worse state were in.

Ask your Dad about NILSATIS NISIOPTIMUM we used to stand by this...

I think the time is nearing for something to happen. If that means protest, then so be it.

I'm sick of the board and i'm sick of the lack of ambition. Modern day Sky fans think we're just another decent Prem side, were Everton FFS, we've won Leagues, Cups & have respect others could only dream of and our board of no-marks are drifting us into complete obscurity.

Let's do something, let's build momentum and get these mongs out

Please everyone, take time out an read this.......

This is the reason we are were we are. Mate i respect your opinion im not trying to have a go at you. But we've sat back to long and took this ****e. If the r/s fan had done nothing the two yanks would still be there ruining that club. Who know what could happen in the future me or you don't. But whats cretin is that if we do nothing there's only one way this club is going.

We have to try an force the boards hand, they don't want to give this club up. We need to show them they have no choice. If you want to sit back an take it up the arse, that's you prerogative im not for taking this no more.
I said this on a previous thread(sack the board not just kenwright) i am in total agreement with you mate ACT NOW before its too late!

This is an IMMENSE idea.

Can I just point out that it wasn't the protests by the Liverpool supporters that removed hicks and Gillet - is was the fact that they had loaned lots of money from RBS who decided they wanted some of it back, thus taking control, putting Martin Braughton in charge and getting him to sell up.

If they weren't forced to by RBS - Hicks and Gillett would still be at Anfield now.

There is no point protesting if you don't have an alternative. Becuase even if you are succesful all you end up with is no owner no board and still no money but a more unstable club.

EFC may currently have no money, but until some rich investor / buyer turns up then we have a degree of stability around the place.

As i have said before - it doesn't matter how willing to sell you are if nobody wants to buy - ashley tried to sell Newcastle at a knock down price for a bout 12 months but gave up cos he had no takers.

The protests helped bring it into the public domain and this put extra pressure on the r/s clowns! So it had some effect!
