Time to Protest.......???????

David Moyes is concerned that Everton's current financial position is leaving them behind.
The Toffees boss admits every transfer window generally proves to be particularly tough time for the Merseysiders.
During this window, the club opted to sell Steven Pienaar

to Spurs as he was out of contract in the summer and able to leave the club on a free transfer.
The Scot told the Daily Mirror: "I've not really liked any of the last four or five windows, I've not enjoyed them because they have been really difficult for us.
"A lot of the summer we have been fighting off clubs who want our players. But it's the same for 90 per cent of managers - whether it be the January transfer window or the summer one."
Ambitions

Moyes admits he will only be able to bring in loan signings this month, which could be to the detriment of the club's long-term ambitions.
He added: "There is a worry we will stand still if we don't spend money, but if you have none, that's the way it is, you just have to deal with it.
"Our team spirit can only take us so far, but I have to get through this January window and try to take the team forward if I can with what we have."
Although Moyes is targeting Hoffenheim

striker Demba Ba and Monaco

forward Dieudonne Mbokani to ease the nerves of Everton

fans, he admits things have been much worse in the past.
He added: "There's been times when there's not been an awful lot in the team, but I see us as having some really top players now - Everton's biggest assets play most Saturdays."

i would be arsed but i get the impression the majority of evertonians are more than happy with the way the club is being run and it could fizzle out pathetically as we have no clear objectives as a protest group.

What got to me yesterday was the reaction (where I was sitting) when Fellaini scored. normally when we get a late equaliser I end up getting mobbed by the people around me, but yesterday the reaction was almost like we were still getting beat.

I don't actually live in the UK, so I wouldn't be part of any protest. I've always been patient, not minding too much about not spending too much money, not had much of a problem with BK. It's gotten to a point though, where this is actually ludicrous. How can a historic premier league team not have any money to spend in transfer windows for the past 3 or 4 windows? That is an absolute disgrace.

I agree with many who say the owners aren't just going to walk out after a protest, but it will put pressure on them and show that the fans are fed up with what's going on. I don't think mid-season is the time to do it, maybe at the final game of the season or at some stage where it would have minimal chances of affecting the players and manager. I just don't think BK is the man up for it, if he has let this continue for so long - He might not have the money, but ffs he's the boss - MAKE A PLAN.

I never get caught up in the BK bashing and owner turmoil, but there's a rare piece of my thoughts on that.

IS IT ACCEPTABLE THAT..........

  • Our ground is falling apart around us
  • we have had numerous failed ground moves
  • We are in 50m + debt
  • Our season tickets are mortgaged out for the foreseeable future
  • We have spent NO Money in the last 3 years (probebly more)
  • Senior players are leaving and not replaced
  • We dont own our training ground
  • We have wealthy board members that will not put any Money in
  • We are lied to constantly about whats going on by our Chairman
  • Ian Ross still has a job at Everton
  • More lies from Bill
  • Other clubs have been took over twice while bill has been looking 24/7
  • Ian Ross still has a job at Everton
  • Clubs much smaller than our that have been ran right are outspending us by far
  • Ian Ross still has a job at Everton
And there's plenty more i could put in.

If you answer no to all these IT'S TIME TO PROTEST....

I'd also understand it, but it'd do more harm than good.

The time to do it is at the start of a season, once the transfer window is shut. Because then you can't have the allegation of knee-jerking to poor results.

If a protest started now, the destablisation could result in relegation, being serious.

Think that is a very valid point

To be honest sharpy don't know what the answer is. And i think in there lies the problem and that is the view of a lot of fans. In the past i have made no secret of my support for Bill as you would be able to see from my posts. However i have to agree i am beginning to change my view, because a lot of questions are not being answered which is a massive own goal on his behalf as the silence is defeaning. ie where does all the money go? I was going to start a different thread on the state of our finances and how bad they really are however don't think that would solve anything if not only confuse me more as unlike some like matt i am not that savvy. And people on here such as davek, cena and yourself are making me change my views on kenwright. However and i stress i still believe he has Everton's best interest's at heart however unfortunately he is just not rich enough to fulfil his and all of our's ambitions. So the answer is simple sell up however as other's have stated it is not that easy ie newcastle. Also i would imagine the board members want return. If you invested some money sharpy in a business i think your attitude would be im staying in for the long haul till i get some return. The problem is with football is people ie us have emotional attachment unlike most other business's. I will always give my full backing to moyes as i have no doubt he is largely to thank for saving this club from god knows what, and i don't believe for one minute he is becoming stale as you said in a earlier post.
Also would like to mention i know everyone goes on about other clubs buying and being taken over. How many can we say have been a success not many and that is where i have major reservation. I know you say and others such as Davek you have to bite the bullet but that is a very dangerous game. You look in the news of the world today and there is a piece there on what matt damon has been banging on about a while now ie financial fair play and wages and some clubs are in real danger of failing this. The overall issue as well is we don't know how other teams stand in relation to us financially ie are they living beyond there means and in the next year or to we could see a leeds or Portsmouth.
Top and bottom of it is that i as you all are am incredibly frustrated as everything concerning the club right now, results not good enough, arteta's form, billy not playing, finances, lack of activity in the transfer market, lack of investment, no end in sight from the ground point of view. However i am sure 4 years ago when we finished with our lowest ever points tally in the premier league we were all the same and could see nothing but gloom. However we are Everton and somehow and i don't know how we will overcome as we did 4 years ago and i believe Moyes is vital in that and if we stay TOGETHER and ride the storm we will improve. I know i have not answered what we can do about the board however i think whatever action if any at all needs to be done at the end of the season, where it does not have a impact on the playing side as at the moment we need to stay strong and stand together. I know you will not agree with the post however none of us have the answer and there is the problem.

Some of you more local guys may be able to correct me and inform me, but I vaguely remember protests about Peter Johnsons time with us.

How did they work out? What effect did they have? Just curious.

I'm half and half on any protest type action. There are many many things wrong at our club (as Sharpey has stated) but also loads that is right. Times like we are in now (transfer windows) are depressing as anything, when you see a ****house team like Villa spending loads, and I think that makes any deficiencies we may have stand out more than they would in the regulation season.

A huge angry shouting protest may not be the best idea, but a few banners here and there may make things apparent.

(p.s. Ian Ross helped me with my dissertation at uni so I don't mind the guy)

i would be arsed but i get the impression the majority of evertonians are more than happy with the way the club is being run and it could fizzle out pathetically as we have no clear objectives as a protest group.

The facebook group is drawing up plans a mission statement and strategy to take forward. Everybody who agrees that protests or trying to expose whats being kept from us should join that group, even if just to have any questions you have answered. It also would help if everybody were together in one group rather than splinter groups.

Listen we all want whats best for everton fc, we want our club to live up to its motto so if a protest is needed then lets do it. Who cares about what kopites do, we would be doing it to let our feelings be known and WAKE the board up because at the moment they are taking the piss. We are the people who pay fortunes for tickets kits etc so too bloody right we have the right to protest. Its our club we the fans keep evertons head above water. I do think to many blues have no idea what everton is about if they are happy to settle for this. We support a club whos motto states that if it isnt the best then it isnt good enough. Are any of you telling us this is good enough?

If a protest was organised, how many people do you actually think would do it?

I think most Everton fans wouldn't until we're on the brink of relegation again.

Things arent really going that well at Everton at the moment. I started a thread a while ago about how everything seems stale at the club right now. Well that was 3 months ago an nothings changed. Except for players leaving (Piennar,Yakubu,Gosling, Vaughan,Yobo).
And we've replaced them with.........

Nobody....

TBH this is not exceptable, and i for one have had enough. Now i know, you all know im not really a fan of Kenwright. And that has nothing to do with the fact he's skint. It's the billshit i cant take from him. Whatch this space being the worst of the lot. But there quiet a few men on our board who have a considerable wealth. But not one of them put there hands in there pocket to help out at this dire situation.. So i ask.

Q.What the fuck are they doing here?.

A. It's there play thing, there train set.

We all know whats going on but we seem to sit back and take it. Other fans at other clubs will not suffer this. ie, the R/S, Newcastle, W'ham. Now i know they've not all turned out the way they wanted, but at least they've stood up an been counted. IT'S TIME WE DONE THE SAME.

We can not sit round and let this happen anymore. An please dont start with. Well who will come in? Because untill we force there old farts out our club we will never know. We need some sort of protest to at least show of our displeasure at the current situation. As this board will never sell, they just want someone to put in investment and let them keep there toy.

It makes me sick seeing teams like Villa, S'Land, Stoke, Bham outspending us and leapfrogging us in the league. We the fans need to stop this rot. We need to stand up an be counted. WE NEED TO PROTEST AT THE NEXT LEAGUE HOME GAME. Banners, songs what ever we have to do.

We have to stop being happy with this crap were being served and start to expect the best. Why not, were getting left well behind. An also, if Moyes is so happy with Kenwrong, he can go with him. We need a clean slate an Moyes is as stale as anyone right now.

NILSTAIS NISIOPTIMUM Lets not forget!!!!

What do you think..??

Protest time...????

Sign me up lets get these clowns out before its too late SACK THE BOARD!!!!!!!!

Next time we perform that poorly at Goodison and the ref blows for halftime, we should all go dead silent, like "Mark of respect" silent.

Pin drop silent. It cost nothing but shows what we think of what we saw on the pitch.

No booing, no clapping, no singing, just dead silence. Get the announcer in on it too and pretend his equipments not working...

Just think all the cameras filming the crowd and were all standing there in dead silence, staring. Epic.

I don't think it's ever been done. It will make the news if done correctly, and the whole world would know that we are not satisfied as fans, because Nil Satis Nisi Optimum is our history, no matter how good certain journos paint us as being a model club who others should look at and clap with both hands.

Would love to see Kenwrong squirming in is seat as we sing "we want Kenwright out" fellow Evertonians turning on him! But sadly I can't see what would happen if we did do it, don't think it would change anything at all.
What worries me more is losing Moyes in the summer after he asks Kenwrong "whats the transfer budget?" to which Kenwrong replies " depends how much we get for Rodwell or fellaini" If we lose Moyes then we lose all are top players!

Can I just point out that it wasn't the protests by the Liverpool supporters that removed hicks and Gillet - is was the fact that they had loaned lots of money from RBS who decided they wanted some of it back, thus taking control, putting Martin Braughton in charge and getting him to sell up.

If they weren't forced to by RBS - Hicks and Gillett would still be at Anfield now.

There is no point protesting if you don't have an alternative. Becuase even if you are succesful all you end up with is no owner no board and still no money but a more unstable club.

EFC may currently have no money, but until some rich investor / buyer turns up then we have a degree of stability around the place.

As i have said before - it doesn't matter how willing to sell you are if nobody wants to buy - ashley tried to sell Newcastle at a knock down price for a bout 12 months but gave up cos he had no takers.
