Like Watford are going to let them two go for a combined 50m to us

Would bite Watford's hands off for Richarlison and Doucoure... but Watford won't give us tidily squat, especially for the bargain basement price of 50mil

The Richarlson thing persists eh?

Around a week to go before we have genuine reason to worry.

I get the feeling we will do our incoming over a short space of time if we know who we are signing, and as the press still have no idea who that is, it can only bode well.

Can't help but think it's a missed opportunity though, if we had got players in early and spent our time selling afterwards then everyone would be bedded into a new way of playing rather than implementing it with the existing swuad and then dropping a few of them for new players.

It would be nice to see a new squad driven by Davies holgate Kenny vlasic sandro lookman Dowell begname and possibly lewen with a few new young faces also.

We can't do that. It's too much of a risk.

Surely the fact we've only managed to ship out Funes Mori and Rooney so far shows their simply isn't a market out there for the likes of Mirallas, Bolasie, Williams etc?

Plus, in this instance I'm not worried about the squad having settled. Plenty of squads have been disrupted far more than ours by the World Cup, for one. We'll have the core in place and the tactics. The players we sign will be being targeted as they can slot right into that anyway. Only major area would be CB as you kind of have to know your partner and have a good understanding, but there's ways of working on that in training as well as the opening few games.

..there’s a few that keep turning up, Matey, but it’s hard to see us doing reasonable business with Watford. In truth, I doubt the papers currently have a clue what’s going on and it’s hard to filter the one or two enquiries that might be genuine.
