2025/26 David Moyes

Might just be the old man mentality I have at times, but I find it extremely disrespectful to label a professional club, one that came through the leagues to play in the Prem for several seasons as the f’n Dog and Duck to defend the manager that both won them a trophy and relegated them within a week of each other, walked out to sign for our club and signed 4 of their players
It's funny you know, Martinez didn't disrespect Wigan when he left for a bigger club, but Moyes apparently did...

Dunno, Waterloo was a close run battle, think Boberto’s final season was more like the Battle of Little Big Horn!
Or Hiroshima, mate… 😳

I think you misunderstood, mate…

While Moyes was disrespected us, Roberto was doing Wigan a favour by taking players who were detrimental to their wellbeing off their hands? I think that sounds about right?! 🤔

….i never for once thought bad of Moyes going to United. Managers live and work on a tightrope, only takes a few bad results for a club to dispose of them, it’s not a one-way street. I doubt many would turn down the opportunity to manage one of the biggest sporting franchises in the world.

Players and Managers will be attracted to other clubs, I felt the same about Rooney and loved how successful the lad from Croxteth was in his career.

I didn't care that Moyes left for United, I thought it got stale with him towards the end and he couldn't turn down that opportunity. But saying he was waiting until the end of the season to decide his future when he'd already agreed to join United, but Ferguson told him to keep it quiet was disrespectful, no? Didn't it come out afterwards that he'd breached his contract?

Also saying if he was Everton's manager he'd sell our players on the cheap so he wouldn't stand in the way of player's careers even though he did the opposite with the likes of Lescott?

Kevin Nolan has literally been on the radio this morning and was talking about Mavropanos and it was 100% a Moyes signing, Kev watched him on Moyes behalf mate as did Pearce. Nice try though JFTM. He has actually been one of their better players recently so I'm not sure why you are complaining tbh as its a Moyes signing coming good.

Its quite amusing how some keep parroting things that simply arent true.

Why do they think Moyes didnt sign the West Ham extension before it was withdrawn?

No control over transfers.

I do have concerns about Moyes spending big money based on prior instances in his career. He’s more adept at finding value in mid priced signings and developing them.

Anyway hopefully this new collegiate transfer board they have in place can mitigate some of the risk in that.

He WAS good at that until he moved on. Then almost all of his signings were poor, everywhere.

For years we wondered what could moyes do if we had the funds to back him...

When you think of the players we could of had if we weren't outbid by teams like spurs and Newcastle, villa etc:
Cech
Essien
Hazard
Moutinho
Parker
Fernandes
Walker/naughton
Emre
Negredo

Sure there's plenty more

Hopefully we might just get an answer to that hypothetical in the next few years (I'd assume hes going to get an extension if he wants it)

Previous and current Moyes are very different.

I mean we paid decent prices for relegated players, who no doubt had release clauses and I doubt we haggled or anything. Not like Martinez went and offered 3m for James McCarthy and said publicly "this is what they deserve, he should move on to a bigger club", I can see why people would be annoyed with Moyes for that. Holding that grudge for over a decade though? Nah.

Obviously the reason there's any noise over Moyes leaving for Man U is because of the way it happened rather than just that he did go

Everybody knows this I am sure, whether or not you care about how it happened

But because people think they can actually wind up the troll who has been trolling for years without ever changing, they exaggerate. Would be great if he was ignored completely as it skews everything
