2025/26 Adam Aznou

It shouldn't be baffling.

Mykolenko and Grealish are two names Moyes puts on the team sheet without thinking each week.

He should have at least been handed more sub appearances this season when we're chasing games like today.

Moyes knows best though. He needs to play five more years with the U21 team and to 'bulk up'.

An utter 'kin dinosaur.
I can see why Moyes hasn't played him at LB as he looks a bit lightweight and gung ho. I am however baffled at how he's barely got any minutes at LM though.

He immediately looked our quickest and most direct wide option today.

Further evidence that McNeil should be nowhere near the side. If Moyes won't play Aznou at LB yet and wants him to learn his trade further forward like Seamus did, fine. Use him on the LW when we are short, or as a sub option and shift Grealish into the middle or on the right depending on need.

Aznou's pace and trickery will help us and he'll soon 'toughen up' if he's getting regular PL minutes David!!

I'm sold within literally the first few seconds

Winning the (extremely soft) pen is obviously good but the whole action:

Cute little pass between the lines to Barry
The best whipped low cross I've seen at Everton probably since Deulofeu, those are SO dangerous
The instinct and desire to get to that ball first - he was so far away!
The feet and shielding to keep it and drive further into the box before getting knocked over

Also the only player apart from Armstrong who I've seen coming into the team looking confident and like they have a point to prove, rather than being scared to make a mistake. I blame that largely on Moyes but it's still impressive to see the kid come out with fire.

Quite funny to see him come on and show the exact opposite of what Moyes has said about him.

Also, as he was doing well amazing to see Mykolenko taken off and replaced by a youngster that many dont rate on here at left back. I would have expected Aznou to move to left back and Graham to come on at left wing.

I suppose that gives Moyes the excuse of Aznou not being ready at left back.

Some posters comments on here are funny. Saying that a player who came on at left wing was "losing the ball" and thats why hes not been seen before at left back - two totally different positions :)

Almost as if players dont know how to play differently at LB and LW :)

Totally showed Moyes up today.

We can now sell McNeil and use Aznou at left wing. Instead, expect to see Aznou receive the Alcaraz treatment of playing well and dropped like last season.

Most fans are clueless mate. They don’t understand that the first goal is absolutely crucial in most premier league games and particularly for us. Playing Aznou at left would massively increase the risk that we would concede the first goal because he looks extremely naive. We would be better in attack and more attractive to watch for sure but we would win fewer points.
Simple - don't play him at FB then, move him up, let him run at people and upset them... but no, Grealish will be back hogging the line and slowing things up
