I wouldn't mind seeing a stat on overall game pace throught the league, if thats something that can be done.

See how the league stands out when you look at speed, transition, intensity, pressing the opposition..

How long do we take versus other teams moving from 18yrd box to 18yrd box

I honestly feel like for many years we've been the slowest team in the league across the field. We seem unable to perform quite basic passing patterns in the middle of the field, and certainly not at any sort of meaningful speed.

Everyone else feels to some degree more dynamic, and more fluid.

It's probably just what Everton does to you, but it feels that way. Probably made worse when our best, most creative and direct player by a mile is missing.

Yeah it’s true. I mean if I looked at the row behind me and saw Nathan Patterson, I’d think twice too. It comes back to recruitment tho doesn’t it - if we were struggling to sign the players we wanted to last summer, why didn’t we bring anyone else in on loan? Why don’t we now? The “no quick fixes” mantra that’s been coming down from on high seems to suggest that loans are a vulgar way to do things, but I think they’re essential to give yourself options when you’ve got a small squad like ours. Quick fixes are fine as long as longer term fixes are being made at the same time!

annoying me that we down to bare bones IE to have to call loan players back to

god sign some and kidnap the afcon guys !

But we did have options on the bench, not as many options as I would like but that would be true if we had a full squad to pick from, but options nevertheless. But Moyes just sat there, staring at his weird little screen, looking bemused. I don't understand the inactivity at all. McNeil and Barry were utter mince, why leave them out there? That was all before the red cards.

god knows but this RB situation now who will be played there?

The home games are like Groundhog day. It was like watching Everton v West Ham earlier in the season. Not great but on top 1st half, opposition make a couple of tweaks, we don't and we get completely over run where we're lucky to get a draw.

We're just nowhere near reactive to when we need to tweak how we're playing. It's less noticeable away from home as we just sit in a low block for the majority of the game and we have that little bit of quality to score from a couple of nice phases of play when we venture upfield.

At home, it's static, predictable, little thought, hopeful of a bit of magic but too few players available atm to produce it.

No surprise we've struggled even more at home than usual against Arsenal, Brentford, Wolves ( with Forest the only exception ) without Illy and KDH
How come the wolves manager can look at the first half and say " hmm I need to make a change so we can compete" but Moyes sits through almost all of the second half and doesn't get that the changes made by the opposition have changed the balance of the game?

Sorry mate, can’t agree with this mindset and you’ve answered your own point - get Europe and we have the summer window to build the squad anyway, and can attract better players if we do.

We should be using the winter window to build anyway, the squad is unbalanced and small, even just use the loan slots we still have available.
Yeah totally get your point, I just look at forest, they got Europe and have struggled this season

I think high take out a few players and this squad is back struggling again, I think we need 10-15 players and to ship quite a few out

I haven't bothered even looking at any media regarding comments on last night's game we've been here too many times before and know the script off by heart. What has caused me to pop my head above the trench is the headline of the Everton app, Nine man Blues held to a draw by Wolves. Who writes this pile of crap?
