Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning everyone. Back from Copenhagen and catching up. I hope @Barnfred 55 is feeling much better, they don’t half take it out of you these nasty viruses.
Copenhagen was lovely and we managed to walk over thirty miles while we were there which was great given the fact that last year Mr P was in agony after walking for about 20 minutes. Would I go back? Probably not as lovely as it was - I think Vienna will always be my fave city.
Looking forward to this afternoon’s match without any expectations- I wonder if he’ll put Ghana back in for this one game?
Have a great Saturday 💙
Have you been to Bratislava- it's like a smaller version of Vienna. I loved it - and you can get the bus to Vienna for about 10 euros! They are very close together

Good morning all on this quite sad one ,I often mail @peteblue telling him we are thinking of him with no need to reply as I did yesterday but this time he replied to ask me to pass on the news that he has been diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver ,incurable but treatable .As if the poor man doesn't have enough on his plate . I have warned him there could be a raft of PM's coming his way ,if anyone feels like that please don't expect a reply as I don't know if he is up to it being diagnosed only last week .
I hope all had a good night and are as well as can be .Have a great day all COYB
Difficult news for you to deliver blue but thank you. @peteblue knows he has a good group of mates here whenever he is ready.

Oh that's terrible news. Thoughts with you @peteblue

Morning everyone,

A wee bit hungover today.

Friday night was the table tennis Christmas do - just an Indian and a few beers - low key but as usual I organized and there was a decent turnout of 24 of us.

Yesterday had a superb lunch and lots of vino with my former business partner. We went to Cargo a seafood restaurant right on the waterfront. Very strange location by the Isle of Mann ferry terminal but the food was amazing. Scallops and monkfish with a stunningly good Spanish white.

Then a walk up to Queens bisto and a magnificent French red from the Loire valley.

Well it softened the blow of the Chelsea defeat.

Anyway , hope y'all enjoying a wet Sunday. Bloody freezing too!

Get plenty of water into you jazzy.

I checked out the menu for Cargo and it looks lovely. I have never noticed it at all though when strolling about there.

Really looking forward to the Sunderland game. Anthony Gordon crying would be a lovely early Christmas present.

Not surprised that it didn't register with you AT .
It's a wrap around restaurant at the base of a high rise apartment block a penalty kick away from the river.

We joked at the time that it was handily placed for a pre match meal as it's pretty much equidistant between central station and Hill Dickinson.

Hi folks I hope you are all OK. I've mostly been on Granny duties when I'm not working. As you can imagine at this time of year the hospitality industry is manic and Charlotte is working ridiculous hours. Her partner is pulling his weight too but he also cares for his Granddad so he has to split his time ( the less said about his mother the better. Im trying to be kind at Christmas!) Having said that I've done 5 Christmas meal get togethers, ranging from pie and chips to Christmas dinner in 7 days!!
Anyway yesterday was a Breakfast with Santa at Charlotte's hotel so I took Frankie. He loved it, got to see his Mummy at work and I got a full English. Win win. 🤣I also managed to do overtime before and after childminding.
Our next childcare is not until Tuesday so this morning I've been to the gym, bought a few more presents and wrapped everything I've got so far. Very productive day so far. Gym again tomorrow.
I got a message from a former work colleague who is at the Sunderland match. He said Jordan Pickford and Jack Grealish were in the town mingling with the Sunderland fans.
Your lunch out sounded lovely @jazzy. Im trying to think of somewhere to take Mr F next weekend before the match. I'm a bit out of touch with dining in Liverpool. We are getting the train so I'll be able to drink - and we arrive at lunch time. I do fancy a proper Chinese, Chinese food in Durham is rubbishand unbelievably overpriced- any suggestions anybody?
I'm a bit conflicted about this time of year. I love the run up to Christmas but I really hate the fact that it's always dark. It never seems to get light. I'd be rubbish in a Scandinavian country! Have you adapted to it @blue1948.
I also thought we played OK yesterday- we need a striker!!! Hopefully Santa will be kind and deliver us one in January.
Have a lovely day all x

2 recommendations - go to either Yuet Ben or the Hing Wha in Chinatown ( both used to be great but to be fair not been there in a while) or there is a lovely fusion restaurant at Pierhead called Matou. It's Pan Asian with Chinese and Thai.
I'd go there I think , it's a great location with lovely views across the Mersey right by where the Mersey ferry docks

The Yuet Ben is a blast from the past. I loved it in there. Finished my hen do with a Yuet Ben Chinese!
