Southampton forward Kamaldeen Sulemana wants to move away from St Mary’s before this summer’s transfer deadline.
The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to Goodison Park throughout the summer after the Blues attempted to sign him in January.
Indeed, Everton wanted the Ghanaian eight months ago prior to his £22m move to the South Coast, but have now reignited their interest.
That is according to The Athletic, who report that French sides Lille and Marseille have also made enquiries about the forward, while Everton’s interest could depend on the future’s of Demarai Gray and Alex Iwobi.
Both Everton players are heavily linked with a move away from Merseyside in the final days of the window, and Sulemana could be an ideal replacement.
Demarai Gray’s proposed move to Saudi Pro League side Al Shabab is yet to be finalised as a second Saudi side has expressed an interest in the 27-year-old.
Iwobi meanwhile has been linked with a reunion with former Everton boss Marco Silva at Fulham, other unnamed clubs also reportedly interested.
Either departure could see the Toffees move for the wantaway Sulemana, though the Saints want £30m for the forward.
Indeed, the Championship club have previously dismissed offers of a loan deal with an obligation to buy for the 21-year-old, with such a proposal from French outfit Nice rejected.
Sulemana made 18 Premier League appearances for Southampton following his January move last season, scoring two goals and contributing one assist during that time.
Sean Dyche has considerably strengthened his forward line in recent weeks with the signing of Youssef Chermiti from Sporting CP followed by the signing of his countryman Beto from Serie A side Udinese.
However, a departure for either Gray or Iwobi feels inevitable as the window draws to a close, so the Toffees may have more business to conduct yet.
