💬 Tell us - who was the first Everton Football Club player you got on the back of your shirt?
Paddy Campbell Campbell. The shop said they couldn't do Campbell because he (Kevin) was on loan and we might not sign him , this was in early July. I said i hope we do sign him , but even if we don't my name will still be Campbell.
Teejay Hoch Cahill and Cahill only.
Wasn't able to see the team on my adventure to Europe from Australia.
Really disappointing that sunderland changed fixtures and the boys didn't train 3 days prior to the game.
Robert David O'Neill Kanchelskis 17 and still have the shirt and all others I've bought. Including an original one i bought about 7 years ago from 1987 still in original packaging (or at least it was). Still looking for an original from 1986 the year I started following Everton.
David Jones I've never bought a shirt with a name on for me other than my own name. My wife bought that one for me as a birthday present and I still wear it when playing.
My son bought Arteta.
Dave Culbert Snodin, when he had that amazing season playing right back and got injured before the England call up. On the salmon pink and dark blue kit too. It was also the last night I could have gone to watch the game in the directors box thanks to my late grandad, because I was playing for the Merseyside Youth Orchestra at the Phil and it was the day we played Wimbledon. Rehearsals in the day and Rite of Spring in the evening. Spent the day / night celebrating. Played the gig pissed and had the best night of my life. And that shirt was with me all day. Even wearing a tux.
John Noon I'm sure it was radzinski on the grey one2one top 😂 what a player!
I remember having the yellow and black Danka top off my nan for Christmas one year and it was signed by Duncan Ferguson. Over the years it faded but I still have the top now. I might see if he can re-sign it for me 🤔
#duncanferguson #makeithappen #evertonfootballclub
Dave Moore I've never had a name on mine although I did get a number 8 sewn onto the back of my home shirt with the white Umbro diamonds down the sleeve (MacKenzie)
JD Gillam Got Rooney on the back of my England shirt in 2004 before that move. Otherwise, only name I've got on the back of my Toffees shirts has been mine as I can guarantee that I'll never leave!
Christian Bunk Svane John Collins (bought at age 13 in Denmark), when Walter Smith brought him in from Monaco! The shirt is hanging in the toolshet, cause of lack of space in the house🤔
Debbie 'Lola' Garbutt Duncan Ferguson. Being a southerner I always struggled to find any everton merchandise in the shops so when I found one with his name on it was happy. Actually I still have it as well as my everton towel I got given one Christmas when I was about 10 so it is now 32 years old
Jamie Anglesea Never used the have names, until a mate got me one for my birthday, he thought anichebe was the best we had to offer. Great sense of humour that lad!
Steve King You couldn't get replica shirts to easy in the early 70s, but I did get a blue top with the white rounded kneckline, and put West and a number 1 in felt tip pen, unfortunately it did come out in the wash.
John Gardner Anders Limpar! It was on the back of that terrible white away shirt with they grey/silver random speckles.
My parents tried to do it on the cheap so bought iron on material that you had to cut out yourself.
Not only were the letters badly cut out, they were mustard yellow. 😂😂😂
Michael Jansen Always had my own name on the back as I'd always dreamed of playing for the club. (As you do.) Finally gave into the fact that I'm destined for the stands and on the latest trip to goodison got Baines on the back. Haven't stopped wearing it.
Jay Cavanagh Goalkeeper the was only ever one as I always wanted to play in goal so big Nev was that and outfield good old Dave Watson haha was my uncles mate at the time and I met him once or twice so hot his name in my NEC shirt haha 🙈
Sean-John Fahy Madar No7 on that god awful lighter blue one2one home shirt, 🙈🙈. I have no idea why, and that same season I had barmby on that yellow and black striped Umbro shirt (still the best away kit)
Josh Dennis Was never able to afford a shirt when I was younger, though I would've bought a Cahill shirt if I could have (still might do), but I actually only got my first shirt last month with Gana on it.
Sebastian Wettlaufer I don't get player names on shirts as I often think that I am mostly a fan of the EFC and not of a single player, but one day I bought a Deulofeu shirt and I love it... great guy, nice shirt😄
John Thorp I've never really been a fan of gettin a players name on my shirt but the 1 and only player I ever did for Everton was radzinski
Matt Waring I had my own name and number 9 for Big Dunc. Ended up being the season we sold him to Newcastle. Had another with Radzinski's number the season we sold him, and since then I've vowed never to had a shirt with a name on again.
Chris Tetzner Timmy 😃😃😃😃 being an Aussie supporter it had to be Timmy Cahill. Still playing good football for Melbourne City and the Socceroos
Stacey Taylor Ferguson. I absolutely worshipped him my hero forever. The pride and passon he showed to wear the Everton shirt is what alot of players lack nowadays.COYB
Tomas Thorpe Ferguson 9, and about 5 minutes later Kanchelskis. The next name was Garbutt let me just say a gift from a member of the family.
Phil Murray Only had 3 names Gravesen, Ferguson and stupidely got Beattie because it came free with a 3rd kit that was only a tenner in the club shop!
Timothy Kearney Big Bob Latchford of course! 30 goals. Was in the the Glwladys when he scored the pen against gobshite Chelsea! Happy childhood for kid from Walton la!
