Everton are in advanced talks with former Wolves manager, Nuno Espírito Santo over the vacant Everton managerial position. The Guardian report ‘Farhad Moshiri, Everton’s majority shareholder, and the director of football, Marcel Brands, have assessed several candidates and are believed to be cl...
I mean, I’ll get behind him, as we all do with anyone who managers our club but it just makes me feel a bit ‘Meh!’ and I’m just extremely underwhelmed about the club as a whole at the moment in every aspect. I’m finding it really hard to find the motivation to even care a great deal about it too, which is a feeling I thought I’d never have. I can also see this just ending the same way as the last 5 managers before him. I hope it doesn’t go that way but something just isn’t right at the club so can’t see it ending in any other way than a negative one. Can very much see us being in exactly the same position, and all commenting exactly the same things, within a couple of seasons as those revolving doors do not look like shutting. It’s like Groundhog Day at the moment but fingers crossed that all changes very soon……..we hope! 💙🙏🏻
After some of the depressing shite we've been served up over recent years, I'm not arsed about tactics/formations etc. I just want to see an Everton team that is fit, athletic and shows some heart and fight. Sadly, that's not what I expect to see from a Nuno team. Majorly underwhelmed by this appointment if it happens!
Like most on this page I’d say he wasn’t my first choice, but that’s not saying there where many other options.
It Feels more like a stop gap and I can’t see him being here longer than 2 years.
Hopefully I’m wrong but if if it is just a stop gap and he brings a few decent players with him then maybe he hands the reigns to someone more stable. Dunc for me would never be the choice now, but i could see him being handed a better team in a few years time. It’s too much of a project atm for someone unproven to take on
I've seen at least 796 different managers mentioned, so there'll be none stop moaning from some regardless who we end up getting. Just some of the complaints I've seen : Dunc - too inexperienced, Benitez - past comments, Howe - got relegated, Harry Potter - didn't win enough games, Nuno - too much beard, Moyes/Martinez - been there done that, Galiter - no PL experience, Conte - a mercenary. Never going to please everyone who wants some magic, success bringing bullet. Of the managers available it was between him and Benitez as the best choice in my opinion. As I've said previously I'll get behind whoever the manager is.
His teams don't run. Everton were slow last season and Wolves were even slower. Bottom in the sprints per game category. Another season of walking football with a soso manager, with stubborn ideas about tactics and players thats supposed to work with the director of football, even though this is Moshiri's choice and not Brands. No coherent structure or leadership in our club. Football people make football decisions and business people make business decisions. Asking fans to buy into a project again with an average manager and a boring style. All those saying back the manager seem to forget we've had this dysfunctional running of the club ever since Moyes left.
I reckon Graham potter would of been a good choice although not a popular one... Don't get why some of our supporters seem to think we've got the pulling power to get a big name manager, anchelloti never bought into it fully jus the fact that he was getting a big bag of money and I can see the same thing happening again if we was to get the same calibre of manager and one of the big boy's come knocking
An Average manager. But unfortunately we're an average club with average players. So can't expect anything else really.
Let's face it Ancelotti was never gonna stay with us, we were a stepping stone for him to get out of Napoli.
Nothing to look forward to next season and certainly can't see any quality coming in and can't see the dead wood getting shipped out.
But that's the state of our club at the moment.
I don’t care who we get as long as they turn this shite around that we’ve been watching. We had what we thought was a “top” manager in Ancelotti, look how that went. We played some of our worst football ever. Whoever we get, they’ll get my full support.
Is it just me or does Moshiri always get the man he wants.. I admire that. He was his favorite from the beginning. I honestly believe if we get a motivator and we sort the right side then it's not doom and gloom.
Don't really care who comes in, Will only judge on performances, I was happy when koeman and ancelotti came in and both ended badly so no point getting excited or angry at this stage just get behind whoever it is and let's hope for the best
Very underwhelming, but I've been happy with some of our previous appointments and look how they have turned out. Just hope Brands is fully behind this decision or fear we will be in the same position again in 18months, but if it is Nuno then he will get my support!
Is a big fat no from me. Although he was better than some we were linked with. Would have personally been more excited by others
Flawless beard, and that is what really matters in the end. With or without him we can always finish 8-12, like we always do.
The football they play at wolves was quite underwhelming. Will he stay long term? I'd go with potter myself, style of football and longevity
If we're not going for a higher caliber of manager I don't understand why they don't just give Dunc a season. He already knows the team, did well for the few games he was in charge and more importantly actually gives a shit about the club. When was the last time we had a manager with actual passion for Everton?
Let’s face it , we got the big name manager in Ancelotti and he fecked us over , 18 months of BS from him with one eye on Madrid . Moyes was a bang average manager when we had him and still is . Nuno worked wonders with Wolves , instilled a work ethic with them , a passion and a technicality in their play , something that we are sadly lacking . We all seem to miss the point that we are a mid table team , yes with hope and expectation but still mid table . If Nuno comes in and just like Wolves takes us as far as he can , pushes us up the table and after 2 or 3 years decides he can’t do anymore then I’ll take that , that will the time for the next big name manager , when we become a more attractive option for them . If he is appointed then I say back him , get behind him and the team . We are Everton , we gotta start somewhere
Fantastic give the man a chance let's be honest his football wont be worse than wat we had to put up with last year under our king carlo I think he could be brillant
In the last 3 seasons he’s finished above Everton twice with a newly promoted team, just get behind him!
I thought he had done one and if he did why is he back. Not a good sign when someone buggers off to another job, then when he doesn't get it he comes back to us and says I wanted this job really I did.Nah not for me thank you.
Think he wants to bring a large backroom staff with him and do all his transfer dealings with his agent Jorge mendes I think, that can't be good for us
Our last 5 managers have been massive disappointments, the club is cursed, we could appoint Pep, sign the best 11 in the world and we’d still fuck it up. Do I think Nuno is the answer. Nope, but I’ve gone past caring.
I’ll let you know when we actually get one ,why does it always take EFC forever to get a new manager!
Awful appointment just settling for mid table now and smacks of desperation from the board. He plays more dour football than our last manager and that’s saying something!
Would have much preferred big dunc to be given a go here has deserved his chance and the other candidates were very underwhelming
Whoever is named get my backing. Its not an easy job so I certainly wouldn't want the boards job of hiring the new man. But he or she has my backing 110 percent
