0s Ronald Koeman has responded to speculation linking Wayne Rooney with a return to Everton. The Manchester United and England captain has been struggling for form this season and has not started a league game since September 24. He has been linked with a move...
Matt Hand Big name that's going to get the world talking about Everton who will be a great mentor for our young players and will make Everton an attractive proposition for other high profile players and has a passion for the club and is not short of a bit of talent even at this stage of his career. No you're right folks let's stick with Kone or Valencia
Si Whelan All the people saying no 😂 yeh you're right let's stick with Valencia and Kone
Anthony Clark Bring him home, he's got passion and commitment, just what this club needs, he's done wrong which was years ago by kissing Manures badge but he was young, don't forget the money we got when he left. I personally think we need him back would be a massive coup for the club, him and Rom would be devastating up front 👍
Andis Tabori Absolutely fucking not. Koeman can fuck off as well, starting to spout the same bollocks Martinez was. We should be looking forwards, no wonder the clubs stagnated for years 😳😳
Ben Cameron I'd be ashamed and embarrassed supporting a club who'd be spineless enough to take him back and that's if we couldn't find anyone better in the market he's absolutely fucking garbage now
David Forrester Everyone banging on about his wages!! Haven't we now got a billionaire owner now ffs, ppl still think we've got about £5 to spend on wages!
I'd snap him up to replace some of the shite we have!!!
Lee Jones I think Rooney in behind Lukaku could be quite a partnership. I think if Rooney did come back it may be to the detriment of Barkley. However Barkley needs to up his game or he is in danger of being a talent that doesn't fulfil the potential.
Chris Chambers Even if it was not a good move footballing wise, commercially it would be a massive statement by the club and he has unfinished business here. Would put EFC back in the lights and, with progress on the stadium, cause some big names to stay and other big names to come in.
If Rooney could not get motivated by a return to his boyhood club then there is something wrong and he still has plenty to offer.
Ian Bracey Rather have him than Cleverly, Kone, Valencia, and could teach Barkley and Lukaku a trick or two. We also lack leaders when Barry is out, Jags is having a tough season and Williams is quiet as a mouse. We won't get him, money will drag him elsewhere but I would take him every day of the week.
Mick Smith Everyone jumping the gun a bit here all he said was "IF" he was a option he would be pleased so would every manager in PL he's going no were at least not us China are offering too much for him to choose Everton
Leigh Albon People saying this would be a mistake? Have a look at the performance of people playing behind Lukaku this year and tell me he would not be an immediate starter in that role. Come on.
Gerry Ring Would have no problem bringing him back on a wage commensurate with his present ability. Everton did benefit financially when he left. Spiritual home for Rooney!
Jay White I'd say he's still got a couple of season in him bring him home he's still a blue has r his family, give rom abit of competition get rid of the Kone n Valencia both total shite,
Simon Harris I'd be made up to have him back, if he's anything like Barry he will have at least 5 years left! And stick him up front with lukaku not this ridiculous roaming midfield role United have him in. Just play him where he should be, get his confidence back and get us some goals.
Gary Simkin He's on 300k a week, 18 months on his contract and can command more if he goes China, so how we gonna afford him and its not good business either. We can't get get better value? I beg to differ.
Peter Matthew Bushnell Any day. For the club; a huge upgrade on Barkley, and for Ross personally it could bring the best out of Ross too, who struggles with the 'main man' mentality that surrounds him at the club. Rooney comes in and takes the pressure of him a bit, and Barkley will thrive
Giles Smith Shocker. Rather watch an 18 year old get a chance. One who won't quit the club after two seasons. The whole Rooney adulation is a joke. Put our energy into getting behind our 100 club Romerlu and remember it's not 2002 (thank god)
Gary Evans I don't know, I would like to think he is still a toffee at heart. He was young and stroppy when he went to Man Utd. I think the only way it would work is if he took a pay cut and not give the impression that he thinks he is better than the rest of the lads. Is he still good enough and would he fit in?
David Hodgson Would take him all day long and anybody who knows football would. Anybody else's reasons not to would be purely be because he left us 11 years ago and won everything there is to win!
He'd still be better than 90% of our current squad too 😏
Gavin Brown Why are people arsed about his wage.. you ain't paying it. The lads got passion and his kids are big evertonians. Do u think he would be any worse than cleverly behind lukaku . This excites me a bit
Paul Brownrigg Not for me...we no longer need to be a retirement home for over the hill 'Evertonians'...younger better options around for us now..!!!
Karl John Koo Ten years ago Everton's hatred for Rooney was so spiteful you'd think the fans would never want him back. Now everyone has open arms and would be happy for him to see out the twilight years of his career at the club despite him kissing his Red Devil's badge in front of the park end after scoring against us. Funny that...
Debbie Rosaria Mixed feelings really, do like the lad, but going forward, who wants Uniteds cast offs, would he fit in, yes, defo, do I want him back, not sure, prob better over the pond in Stevies place
Peter Billy Bass Williams I don't see it happening personally, but I don't see why we shouldn't be interested. Yes, he's past his best, but he's still a very good player with a lot to offer
Andrew Kerridge We could buy him back.. So come on home. You know why he is not playing well that's because he's not in a blue Everton kit.
