What was the first ever Everton match you went to?
David King I must be an arle fella. I was there in (66) stood on the gladly with my dad..seen Eusebio. And the Koreans.!!still lives with me now. And I'll never ever forget the boys pen.!!we had a hole in the top corner. And once the game kicked off. We would climb up to the stands.!!!those were the days .!!!!
Scott Belvedere Traveled from Florida to San Francisco to see them back in '13 vs. Juventus in the ICC. Toffees 6-5 pens after the 1-1 draw. Sat in the Everton supporter section. Great to participate in the chants. One day I will find my way to Goodison.
Amanda Congdon After my husband Everton born and bred died my wonderful brother in law bought me tickets to a game when I was dealing with the first stages of grief My love for the Blues kept me going through many a dark day and I am forever grateful to my club for giving me a bond to both past and future memories I live a long way from Goodison Park in Cornwall but lots of my family live round the corner so when I see them I see the Blues 💙
Nicholas Wilkes Everton vs Chelsea 3-3 amokachi scored 😳😳 left school to catch the coach from bham to Liverpool age of 16 and missed the first one bk so ad to wait for the last at midnight! Mom was pissed at me to say the least considering she thought I was at my mates!!
Craig Mutter November 1996 - Everton 7-1 Southampton. Shame I had to sit in the Saints end, but it was a great car ride back to the New Forest with a car load of very quiet Saints supporting family members.
Anthony Mckay My 1st game I nearly died, I was taken to goodison with my two cousins and I was proper young, must of been 8 or 9 and they weren't much older, but back in the day we went everywhere no problem, we where at Moorfields station running for the train and I got on and they didn't, but the doors closed, I panicked and squeezed my tiny little body through the doors of the move train while it was moving, don't even remember anything of the game, just the train ride
Catherine Jane Blackburn Rovers back when I was 7!! My Dad used to go the games on his own until this day... my Mum went to Weight Watchers and I went to the match with my Dad. Absolutely loved it!! Cold, winters night and the pitch looked incredible under the floodlights!!! A memory I will never forget walking out into the main stand! 💙💙💙
Marie Mawdsley 1964 me mam told me dad to take me out so he took me the best place he could think of I'm still going now sit on the Gwladys St not far from where we used to stand lots of good memories and a few well worth forgetting 💙💙💙💙💙
Christopher Hale As as Aussie they came over here one preseason and me my dad and grandad watched them play all 3 games. I've since been over and seen them play 4 times including our penalty shoot out win at goodison a few years back
Mikey Hunter Travelled from northern Scotland on Sunday 7th May 2006. 2-2 v West Brom and Dunc scoring a late rebounded pen. Even better my West Brom supporting mate nearly in tears standing next to me. Superb every time I've been since.
Rory Pearson I'm Aussie. Travelled to goodison alone to see home match against Fulham 2010. 2-1. Arteta with the winning pen. Watched Timmy play. So great. Hugged a granny in celebration. Got invited to the club afterwards. Got beers bought for me. Shared a cab back to town. Such a lovely club, such a great fan base. All dreams came true.
Colin McPhail September 1985 vs RS at Goodison. Got my ticket off a Tout on Goodison Road for £4.50 for the enclosure - had to walk to Lime Street after the match !! Dalglish scored after 30 seconds !! - pulled it back to 3-2, not enough.. back a couple of weeks later for Oxford United at home - won that 2-0.
Dave Clark Vs Newcastle April 1987 at Goodison. Sat at back of lower Bullens and couldn't see the ball when it went in the air! 🙈 Wayne Clarke scored a hat-trick and we won 3-0! Two weeks later we won the last of our nine league titles at Norwich! Good times! 👍
Stephen Cooksey March 1991 Everton v Nottingham Forest 0-0 draw 😳 only 9 years old but remember Robert Warzycha make his debut and Brian Clough was the manager of Forest. Not the best first game but once I walked into Goodison that day I've always been a blue.
Matt Pearson Jones Sheffield United away in 1991, so the last season of the old division 1. Went with Carl Bentley and I'll never ever forget it. Saw the players come off the coach. Got tickets for the home end but my uncle Mike asked a steward if we could sit in the away end. And my life has never been the same since. Just a shame we lost the game 2-1 thanks to a dodgy reffing decision
Vaggelis Vasiliadis Last year Everton -West ham 2-0. First time in Goodison ,came from Greece with the support of Everton FC Greece Club just for this game and left.Happy to meet the legend Eddie Hourston .
Sandra Cahill Can't remember match but my dad would lift me over the turnstiles and sit me on his knee watching the game..frightening though when we scored as he would throw me in the air considering we sat in front row upper Gwladys..and I still do (sit in my dad's seat)
Malcolm Fowler it was West ham v everton at Upton park in the late 60's Remember it as a west ham player smashed into hoarding behind the goal , the west ham medic was already dealing with another player . our Wilf Dixon ran on to deal with the new injury for west ham player , i think the player was Stephenson ,
Jordan Pachuau Sorry i am a homeless guy..i dont have enough money to buy tickets..sorry Everton..but during our matches..i always cheer outside the stadium...trying to know the results and all...if i was there , i maybe the loudest crowd. . Sorry Everton I Love You always
Phil Hughes Paul Hughes
Everton v Coventry at Goodison (1990?)
2-1 to us, McCall scoring both I think.
Whatever the attendance was, it had a 2 on the end, it was announced on the radio driving out of the game. You said that the 2 was us! Always remember x
Ross Starmer April 2003 in the lower bullens, EFC 2-1 Aston Villa. Marcus Allback gave them the lead early in the second half before super Kev Campbell equalised about 10 mins later. Looked like that would be it however Rooney scored the winner with only seconds left! Fantastic stuff!
Magnus Braaten Everton supporter from Norway here.
Brann - Everton 2008 in Norway. At Goodison a 25 year old distanse relationchip came to an end 30.1.2013, the biggest day in my life (after my kids, but before my wedding) NSNO!
Derek T Price Mine was at home against Bolton Wanderers in (I think) November(ish) 1954. Went on in later life to meet & have my photo taken with my hero Nat Lofthouse. Such a gentleman! Still got my programme.
Kwame Asiaw I've a shit memory so no clue what year or which game came first. Home to Newcastle (when Beardsley played for them) we won or at home to Arsenal when they had Ian Wright (we lost) and Wright scored. Always s sat with the shit restricted view in Upper Bullins close to away fans. First time at Wembly I do remember though. 95 Charity Shield when we won with the fluke Vinny Sammways goal. I'm a Lancashire lad and I went with 3 mates one a Tottenham fan and 2 Blackburn fans. I was sat in Rovers end. Promptly sat back down when Vinnie scored. 😂 Had hoped to get to FA Cup Final but was in the middle of Uni exams. Not been on in a number of years, but I find the game on the box via some means or other and watch them all live and shout myself horse. 😂
Thomas Mahon Charity sheild last time we won the league, 87/88 year we beat coventry one nil Wayne clark scored winner I think...I was about 10/11 my grandad (long time blue) brought me over.... then too first game of season at Goodison we beat newcastle 4,0 tony cottee hat trick on debut Sharp with the other one..if my memory is right
