Everton now want to sign Yuri Alberto who is ‘ready for move’ – journalist

Everton are now interested in 22-year-old Corinthians forward Yuri Alberto.

The Brazilian international is now ‘ready’ for a move, though is waiting for a ‘perfect option’, according to journalist Dominik Schneider.

Indeed, writing on his Twitter account, Schneider stated: “Future of Yuri Alberto of Corinthians remains open. Numerous clubs from Europe show interest. Talks with Everton FC are ongoing. Nothing concrete so far.

He feels ready for move, waiting for perfect option. Contract until 2027, high transfer fee expected.”

Yuri Alberto could be a big gamble for goal shy Everton, considering reported high transfer fee

Alberto, who was linked with a move to Barcelona in 2021, is considered a talent though he could be a gamble for the Toffees given the ‘high transfer fee’ that Corinthians could demand.

The 22-year-old has some previous experience of European football after his brief spell with Russian side Zenit Saint Petersburg.

The forward moved from Brazilian side Internacional to Zenit in January 2022, signing a five-year deal, though moved back to his native Brazil in June of the same year joining Corinthians.

Alberto scored four goals in 11 games during his brief time in Russia, though a move to the Premier League would be a considerable step up.

Indeed, the 22-year-old has scored twice in 15 appearances so far this season for Corinthians, so he could be considered Everton’s wildcard option this summer.

Meanwhile, Tutto Salernitana report that the £15m faux pas Neal Maupay could be used in a part exchange deal for Senegalese forward Boulaye Dia.

Dia recorded 16 goals in 33 Serie A games for Salernitana last season, contributing six assists to boot and at 26-years-old he could be a handy signing for Sean Dyche.

The report states that Everton could offer around £17m plus Maupay for the forward, which sounds like a deal that could suit all parties.
