Am I the only one who thinks Mignolet didn't have an amazing performance? His save were Lukaku tried to chip him was class but the shot by Deulofeu and Lukaku one were Barkley done a through ball to him was straight at him. He played well as did Howard but not world class ffs

I disagree mate, i think especially in the 1 on 1's he played them perfectly, didnt commit too early or when he did got their fast, was even unlucky with one he conceded as he got a hand to it was just too much power behind it though, also came out at the right times, was their best player on sat imo. fair does tho if you thought he played just ok like

On a side note i think howard played pretty well too, just like to see him coming out for crosses more but lets face it he never does and never will be that type of keeper

Its been said to death, but as far as negatives are concerned its hard to look passed the atrocities that went down during their set pieces. Howard's inability to come off his line was again highlighted for the first goal (although the marking on Coont was non-existent too). I've a 50/50 blame for that one.

Other than that, I was impressed by the lot. They were a Mignolet away from a humilation and they know it.

Talking about the one on ones, was the Lukaku 1 on 1, very similar in build up to the Loris knockout move? Genuinely can't remember how we got to the Loris chance, but I know he was in a very similar position and 1 on 1, just wondering if its likely to be a tactical move or just something that happened off the cuff.

think so mate, think its something off the training ground for him to angle that run in off the defender towards the edge of the box with a through ball, difference being mignolet was a bit quicker out so didnt get himself british heavyweighted

EDIT: just had a look of a few of the highlights from west brom last year, and think it may be just a trait of the player as theirs a fair few clips of him doing the exact same thing, so maybe just a natural thing he does mate

Just thought of a positive/negative: Lukaku scored twice (positive) but goals aside his first touch was poor on more than one occasion. There was also that counter where he couldn't find open men either side of him that had the whole ground in disbelief.

Its not the first time I've spotted these negatives in his game and every time I do I say "yeah, that's why Mourinho doesn't think he's ready to start for Chelsea."

The Kopites positives and negatives from the Derby:

Positives

- Got Baines a month lay off after their Honey Monster looking tit stamped on him
- apparently the Everton mosaic was "hilarious" (they put great stock in these things)
- they had a MOM performance from their GK

Negatives

- they got played off the park
- Suarez got a challenge that made the whole of football stand up and cheer
- a ref didn't follow their orders
- the PL watched their paper mache midfield totally exposed and will seek to exploit it in future
- Gerrard looks like the washed up old man he is (a husk of a former player left only with Beckham's delivery on free kicks but without the glamour)
- they know we're back in business in these Derbies and are going to learn to loathe them as much as we have.

I'll admit that 5 minutes before his first goal I said to those i was watching with that I wouldn't be surprised/devastated if Martinez took him off.
Very glad to have been proven wrong- although those poor attributes (1st touch, control, misplaced passes, etc) need to be ironed out of his game

Sure they will. Along with barkley and deulofeu they are talented youngsters but not the finished article. They will obviously improve with experience.

The posatives were dominating large parts of the game and cutting through them.

The negative were having to sit in the same stadium as them.

Cheers for the info, either way its positive, makes the vision of our players to find his runs more impressive.

 nice.

A few more if I may?

Positives:
A point closer to winning the league
All their youngsters are 90 minutes closer to being the very best there is... anywhere.. ever.

Negatives:
The board, how is Rodgers supposed to compete with Everton with the budget he gets? He can barely buy enough 15mil+, below average youngsters to fill the bench ffs.
