I've had a good half hour to come down from that megarush of a match! Which brings me nicely to my first positive:

positives:

- it was an epic match! Full of incident, swings-n-roundabouts and high-drama. Just what derbies should be.
- we never gave up, and we went for it even right at the death: everyone from the players to the manager proved to us that they no longer fear these games.
- Lukaku was almost gonna be a negative with his Jela-like first 60 minutes. His goals, again, were crucial to us. As important as he is, we really shouldn't be that reliant on him.
- Our young trio Ross, McCarthy and Delboy were well into it, trying all sorts of neat tricky things to get us moving. Del & Barkley made some mistakes, but I'd rather that than play an ultra-safe sideways-pass game.
- Our goals came from pressuring them rather than luck or mistake on their part. This bodes well if we can apply that same pressure on other teams.
- Scoring 3 vs the red poo is great, and the first time we've done that since the AJ derby, I think.
- Kev doing Suarez and not getting sent off is one for lore.
- no dodgy refereeing or outrageous bad luck to mar the post-match feeling.
- our new manager, once again, makes subs that improves the situation.

negatives:

- defensive lack of focus caused the first two conceded goals. We really can spare ourselves so much stress (and gain league points) if we didn't switch off at key moments so often.
- we didn't win...and ye gods how beautiful would a win have been?

So an easy positive derby experience for me that! Yeah, they equalised with a few minutes to go...but after the initial disappointment wore off this is the best I've felt post-derby for a long time.

What are your pos & negs?

Pos
- Everton taking the game to Liverpool for once!
- Coming back from behind twice

Neg
- woeful set piece defending
- Bringing on Stones. Bad move!
- Liverpool Lucky again after stupid foul given away twice by the big man!

The biggest positive for me was the way we went at them. 3 goals and their goalie their motm says it all. We went behind early on and recovered quickly. I don't think I have ever seen us defend worse than that from set pieces and typically it had to come in the derby. Kevin Miralles in a free role delivered his best performance of the season, pity his tackle didn't do more damage.

We won the passing game 51% to 49%. (y)

The positives far outweigh the negatives. Everton were the better team there. We have a manager driven and determined to make Everton fear no one and play our own game - and that easily includes the likes of those shower of pricks from over the park.

FT that felt like a kick in the balls but, result aside, it's a marker laid down.

Positives.
The manager..
We can play without Baines.

Negatives.
Leading, at home with just mins to go and just knowing what would happen.

Mirallas doing Suarez is a thing of beauty. Reap what you sow - the stamp on Mirallas last year immediately levels it out.

Absolutely delighted with Everton overall today. Yes, we need new centre-halves to play the system we want to play as Jags and Distin look suicidal in possession, but other than that this is one of the very few derbies in over a decade where we've came and stood up to them.

Brilliant Everton and a big congratulations to Martinez.

Draw overall I'm little annoyed with thought 2nd half we more than deserved that. Sorry Tim you've cost me 50 quid in the swear tin for that rubbish wall you put up.

But lovely to see us take it too em for a change

Positive:

Today was the day that we became (at least) there equals in every way. By that I mean the in the minds of the players (ours and there's)

I've never truly thought of us as that however much I thought we could/should win a game in recent years. There a good side and we made them look very average at times. Plus we'v got the best local boy on the block now!

Positives:
- no red card for mirallas
- no player gets bitten
- 12 shots on target
Negatives:
- John Stones and Baines doesn't look good

Positives:
- The manager
- We were much the better team
- Mirallas had a much better game and nailed Suarez
- Ross the boss

Negatives:
- Some poor finishing
- Awful defending
