Look champ, I ain't trying to jiffer a Yez Mina thread with Barkley talk. But dinkums, he would slot straight into our midfield. And regardless of the role he plays at Chelsea, right now he is a first team player. I cannot see any of the hoolydooly's in the current Everton squad going into the Chelsea team, even as a "bench" player, none of our midfield would be welcome there.

We're crying for the snake to slot into our midfield right now!!!

Why would we want Barkley back here he isn't exactly earning rave reviews at Chelski and I take it you don't think Richarlison or Gomes are up to it either then.

Yerry Mina is back out on the grass at USM Finch Farm after overcoming a minor setback in his recovery from a foot injury.

Colombia international Mina, signed from Barcelona in August, initially started working with his new teammates at USM Finch Farm three weeks ago following a month of rehabilitation.

The central defender was forced back to the sidelines after bruising his foot in a training-ground collision but has now resumed work as he builds his way towards being available for Marco Silva's side.

When fully fit, Mina will add to Silva's rich options in the middle of his defence. Michael Keane and Kurt Zouma have both performed strongly in Everton's past three matches, with Mason Holgate and captain Phil Jagielka also pushing for starts.

Mina was one of the standout players of the Russian World Cup during the summer. The 24-year-old helped Colombia record two clean sheets and scored three goals in as many appearances, including a stoppage-time equaliser in his country's last-16 clash with England.

Would love to see him on the pitch soon, but not sure I'd break up the Zouma-Keane pairing while they're playing reasonable well.

This really. I think, for now, we can actually afford to be a bit more patient. As you say, Keane & Zouma at least showing some signs that they're settling in that back line.
