He is a first team player at Chelsea in the same way that Jack Rodwell was a first team player at Citeh.
Look champ, I ain't trying to jiffer a Yez Mina thread with Barkley talk. But dinkums, he would slot straight into our midfield. And regardless of the role he plays at Chelsea, right now he is a first team player. I cannot see any of the hoolydooly's in the current Everton squad going into the Chelsea team, even as a "bench" player, none of our midfield would be welcome there.

We're crying for the snake to slot into our midfield right now!!!

Um, no we arent.

Where would he slot into our midfield? The only position he could play Siggy is already playing at. Hes a poor defender so he cant play where Davies/Sniderlien/Gana are playing.

So theres literally no space for the rat, except in the dreams and fantasys of those who like to reimagine him coming back for some bizzaro reason.

Our midfield is a weakness, it has been for a while. Many times did people advocate on this forum for him to play a deeper role and in 2013 when he went deeper for us to play a role during injury he was fine. Barkley would serve that role, FAR better than Davies currently does. Evidence has suggested he can play as an 8, when required.

Cobber, I'm not living in with the pixies where I think he should/will return, it was a response to an outlandish comment. But yes, he is gone and hopefully NEVER comes back. To me he really is nothing but a Psedonaja. When Chelsea came to Perth to play our local city couple of months back, I spent the entire game booing him with my little Everton squad and yelling him out for the rat he is.

Anyways, back on track to ye Yez Mina thread. Is there any rumours, communications or thunder suggesting he'll be running around tomorrow morning? Would love to see a bit of cut snake in the team. Been a while since we've seen a centre half with a bit of that.

Physioroom has Mina , Coleman and Gomes back on October 6
So they all should be available for selection after the international break
Gomes or mina haven't had a pre season
They should build up their match fitness with a few games in the reserves
It would be stupid to throw them straight into the first team

'Match' fitness is an anachronism these days. It's a hangover from the days when we knew sweet FA about conditioning (training usually involved jogging round a pitch and throwing medicine balls) so then the best/only way a player got fit was playing matches, these days we know so much more so players are able to get 'match fit' without playing.

It might be better to bed them in gently to get them used to players/tactics etc but 'match fitness' isn't a thing anymore.

We have a reserve team? Which league do they play in? The old Central League? Lancashire Combination? ,how did we get on in the Liverpool Junior Cup?:);)

Yeah, completely agree. Match sharpness is a thing I think, getting used to the amount of time you have on the ball, getting your timing back etc, but if you're fit enough to be on the pitch you're match fit these days.

I’d argue match fitness and regular fitness are different. You need regular fitness to get match fit but deffo two different things.
