Would be if we had someone that could deliver a set piece.
At least they'll have someone to aim at now.

It's mostly nothing to do with the quality of the player. He may be a great signing.
As said above though, we are not a club that can afford to stockpile players for the first three months of the season and hope to get away with it. We've dropped crucial points and that could have been avoided. We needed momentum early this season and we've had a kind fixture list for the most part and haven't done that great. It then puts us under the cosh a bit in the next few weeks.
THAT ^^^ scenario could have been avoided with a better transfer window.
It was always gonna take time mate, obviously you'd have thought we'd be at least 4 points better off thus far but if the new signings come in and show their quality for 3/4 or 2/3 of the season then it will have been worth it.
I can remember a lad we had as manager bought a CF for us that was never fit and the same lad bought a CM made out of balsa wood and cardboard
I hope so too.
But the issue for us this summer was that we had a manager who had to put up with a policy of slash and burn in terms of getting players out but the replacements he required were too slow coming in (hence his comment about 'another preseason' needed to bed them in) or weren't fit to make starts in the first two months of the season...at least.
That wasn't fair on the manager. If he's struggling in a few weeks time to get fans keeping the faith then it's been down to that transfer policy he was handcuffed to. I hope the moaners remember that.
Fine. Get shut. That wasn't the criticism though. A laborious drawn out process of players coming in, and coming in lacking any possibility of being able to play, is the issue.Again, I know it's frustrating the points we've dropped. But a lot of the transfer window was spent cutting a largely obese squad full of older has beens or younger never bee's. Rightly or wrongly it had to be done. And again Barcelona did mess us about with three of the signings, who all wanted to come but Barca as is their right, either wanted more money, or to turn it into a transfer auction.

Silva was let down on that. No question whatsoever.
We badly need him to be.He better be unbelievable.

Maybe Silva said I want Mina Digne Gomes and don’t want second bestFine. Get shut. That wasn't the criticism though. A laborious drawn out process of players coming in, and coming in lacking any possibility of being able to play, is the issue.

I understand the frustration and the cries of ‘another false dawn’ but against Arsenal he had three of his signings out on the pitch with a fourth coming on as sub. These players have improved us no doubt, and more will arrive in January / the summer. This season the best we can hope for is signs of a strategy and a style.
Yeah, I'm sure Silva wnated his signings to be brought in at the last minute and for half of them to go straight into the treatment room.Maybe Silva said I want Mina Digne Gomes and don’t want second best
Maybe he knew they were injured and was prepared to wait
May when told Bernard was a possibility he said
Kin hell lad get him on the dog and bone I’ll have word in his shelllike
We don’t know , but what we do know is Silva has never once complained about the transfer poicy or the players signed or the positions filled but has said he is happy with the clubs buisness
He’s the manager, he knows the pitfalls, let him live and die by his judgement
