Just done this on the Xbox.

I have Fifa 10 and went online. Played the first match and when I scored in the first minute, a couter suddenly appeared and counted down from 60. It then resumed. Then after scoring another two, and the other player having a player sent off - it happened again. Does that mean the player I was playing had quit?

I think so mate. Looks like you were giving him or her, a hiding!!! lololol.

Was there a substitution made after each time the counter appeared? If so he was probably paused to make a sub or change his formation.

Played four games on this.

Two the players have seen the game out, the other two quit promptly after the second and third goal to make it 2-0 and 3-0. Both times I was Everton and they were Man Utd. I assume it's because they don't want the scoreline of a spanking against a lower team on the likes of this;

Thats me by the way...

Upload your photo and get your mug in there as a 3D rendered player. I look hilariously ugly.

It just happened again :lol: See the link just above, will show 5 games played, 5 wins, but only show 2 results because they're what finished.

I was Everton, I made it 2-0 in the first few minutes against Real Madrid and then the belter quit. This belter;

Bit [Poor language removed] this online gaming lark. Unless you make them think they have a chance, they quit...

How long have you been playing? You seem like your really good.

What's your lineup like?

Only ever played the 5 games online.

Completely new to this online gaming, find it a bit crazy. But hardly bother with consoles these days, the mrs got me the Xbox the Christmas before last so got Fifa for it. My ability on them stems from my younger days. At many, many illegal house parties, there would always be a Pro Evo sesh going on. "Winner stays on..."

It's the perfect Saturday. You're rocking your team's jersey as you settle onto the couch, a Shasta in one hand, bag of Fritos in the other, preparing to hit the pitch in FIFA 10. You head online, get yourself into a match and suddenly you're up one-nil. And then, just as suddenly, your opponent quits. You go bananas, hurling your controller into the TV. Then your wife comes in and says she's had enough and takes the kids to her mother's. A month later, you're divorced.

It's a story we hear way too often here at Joystiq. Thankfully, EA is working on a way to punish these quitters -- outside of rectifying the fact that they've wrecked your life forever -- in the next series iteration, FIFA 11. EA Canada's Simon Humber told Eurogamer these "rage quitters" are a "complex problem." See, there's a loophole in the game that allows players to quit within five minutes of starting a FIFA 10 match online, in case there's a connection issue -- but EA is looking for ways to keep players from exploiting that feature.

Humber says that EA is thinking about adding functionality to FIFA 11 that would reward players for finishing matches, rather than try to punish those that quit. As for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa, don't expect any changes: "We haven't done anything different for this game as far as I know," Humber said.

I laughed at the first paragraph...
