Would you want our new manager to celebrate mediocrity?

Well, would you?

This is my point. Let’s face it the RS did well getting there and I wish we could, but go there to win it or don’t bother.
Our club right now is rooted in mediocrity, our culture needs to change.
Well i suppose the fantastic journey trophy will look nice next to the 1st to beat City one,we have been rooted in mediocrity for years we had Neville telling us what a great season finishing 8th was,he should have been booted down County road for that

I for one would just be happy in the CL, never mind getting to the final!

The journey counts too.

Are we so deluded that we can't acknowledge what a run that was? They scored goals, played attacking football and are strengthening further for next season. Meanwhile, we go through mediocre manager after mediocre manager, buy mediocre players, play mediocre football and have a motto we blatantly don't adhere to.

Should be Nil Satis Mediocritas.
Yeah it's fun while it lasts, I enjoyed our runs to Wembley but end of the day we came out with nothing....
They're acting like finishing runner up elevates them to being a top top side and justifys the massive spending etc,

As much as I can’t stand Klopp, if your definition of “mediocrity” is getting to the CL final, then I think it probably needs some work
100% this! How many finals has he got them to since he came? He WILL win one eventually bud, sad though it makes me to say it. He is progressing from season to season and looking at the players he is planning to bring in he may win something next season!

I dunno, had some great days out at Wembley, with terrible results. Did not make our achievement any less getting there, but would have been even better to have won.

In all honesty, I'd take their mediocrity at the moment, over our crap-ness. However, I'd much rather win it, of course!

It's such a loaded question/poll.

Would I be happy to see our manager celebrating like that after a loss? Of course not. Would I be made up if we made a Champions League final? Hell yes I would.

At this point just qualifying for the tournament would be an achievement in my eyes.

Whilst we continue our new manager search, i wanted to see what the general consensus was of Everton fans' opinion on what type of manager we should hire?

After seeing the embarrassing footage of Jurgen Klopp celebrating another runners-up medal into the early hours of the bitters' final loss, i have noticed not one of their fans is calling for his head. If the roles were reversed, would we be the same? Or would we make a statement as fans that this isn't acceptable, as winning nothing, is not worth celebrating.

Over the last few years (under moshiri), we have collectively let the board know that Martinez, Koeman and Allardyce's 'achievements' have not been good enough for our club, despite the media's dismay that they have in fact been good enough.

I think the fact that our fanbase has been forward in letting the board know about this, whilst the bitters are always looking for other excuses like arm rolls, shows the wave of change in both clubs' ambitions. Whereas they fear their manager is bigger than the club and are afraid of upsetting the apple cart, we're showing a determination not to just plod along like them picking up runners-up medals, whilst we sack any manager who doesn't bring us a trophy.

That's just my opinion though, would you be happy with a manger who only gets us to these finals and constantly let's us down? Or would you want one who will take the risks required to end our trophy drought?
I know its the close season
But do we need or deserve a thread that basically says...hands up for a shight manager

Right now I would say a massive big yes to our new manager leading us to a top 4 finish next season followed by another top 4 finish and a loss in the UCL final.
