This poll is a joke and solely intended to try and belittle a poster for a comment he made.

Of course Blues want us to win every game BUT if you gave me a cast iron guarantee that Brown shoes would be sacked if we lost today, I'd take the loss for the bigger picture. However, that's not how it works and therefore I obviously want us to get a result today. I think this is the point Matty was trying make, and we've ended up with a visible poll result where anyone choosing Yes will be stone to death on here, as there's no context applied.

Just think it's designed in a way which is leading and already puts a negative spin on voting yes.

Spent far too much time doing research methods at uni...I'm on your side anyway Longy I always want us to win.

I guess that's unavoidable as it's a negative topic. I agree with your feeling on the club too.

There's the potential for logic behind it, yet in the few cases I've seen I've perceived it (and that's my opinion) as more anti-Martinez emotion.

Maybe if the argument was put across slightly more mature and rounded then it would be less repulsive to the majority of fans.

Hey I still wouldn't agree but I could give it more merit. That's not aimed at @matty1878 by the way, but the argument as a whole.

Simply put, I want Everton to win today regardless of Martinez as Everton is paramount. If we win will it ease my views on Martinez? Not really.

If we lose and it leads to his axe how will I feel? Then I'll be probably be relieved, but not before that. Everton winning is first and foremost.

Thanx mate totally valid they're.

I really hope that any decision being made by the Board on RM's future does not depend on how well we do in the FA Cup, and if we win it he then stays regardless.

What happens if we lose most of remaining league games in dismal fashion but win the FA Cup? That can't be enough for the Board to keep him on?

For me, as someone who has wanted him gone for a long while now, the only way he can possibly keep his job (maybe in the eyes of the Board, not me) is if our remaining 8 league games produce something like 6 wins and 2 draws and, even more importantly, there is substantial evidence that:

- we are playing well and with confidence and not just fluking ill-deserved wins
- the players seem united and motivated and team spirit is good
- our defending of set pieces and crosses shows huge improvement
- RM displays some humility for once and admits to mistakes on his part

As for the question in hand, no I don't want us to lose games just to speed up his demise.

I've already addressed your concerns regarding visible votes, if you choose not to believe me I don't really care :)

It's not made to belittle anyone, it's called debating, in fact I would call your first 5 words belittling.

I think it addresses an underlying issue in the Martinez thread and is obviously one that many people feel passionate about. You're more than welcome to not come back into it mate.

Rightly so too by the way, intentional or not.

Nail on the head mate - Thankyou

The visibility is harming our numbers!

Was there any poll for those wanting Everton to lose to City the other year? Be interesting to see the difference, as wanting Everton to lose to achieve a certain goal would suggest similar results. Fairly certain it was pretty even though.

From memory there were a few who didn't mind if we lost but most of us found that a very hard notion to swallow.

I am not comfortable with the idea of people wanting Everton to lose a game in order to hasten a manager's demise.

It just doesn't seem right.

Then again, I wanted City to beat us and save the universe two years ago so I feel I am in no position to chastise anyone who voted yes.

And I will happily take a defeat at Leicester in a few weeks if that match is vital to their prospects of winning the EPL.

But I voted no in this Poll.

The results havent been great and we would tend to lose anyway irrespective of fans. If hes lost the dressing room as it seems its just a matter of time. His tactics sre transparent and too many managers are seeing through him. Talks the talk but cant deliver
