Would you sell Jelavic?

Something's definitely not right about the lad, it's a shame but he's shown what he can do and he'll return to the slotting bossness that he's capable of.

It makes you wonder would a new manager bring his form back. It happens with a lot of players

He needs someone to put an arm round him and tell him he's boss. He's fine when he plays for Croatia so this is plainly a man management issue.

It's not a man-management issue, it's a coaching issue. When he came in January 2012 he played his instinctive game, as there was little time to coach him otherwise. During and after the summer 2012 he was coached the Moyes way. This meant thinking about things he hadn't been used to before (tracking back, channel-running, pressing defenders, holding the ball up).

So it means his mind is at a million different places, as he struggles to master these other jobs he's been given. It detracts from his focus which was so instinctive before.

Either we sell Jelavic as he doesn't fit Moyes's system, or we change our coaching setup to suit instinctive attacking players.

Man-management is a separate issue with other players (previously Beckford, Drenthe...now it seems to be Vellios).

Think this might be spot on, although oddly, he didn't seem to be tracking back/have many extra responsibilities today and still had a howler, probably all confidence now. Felt sorry for some of the lads busting their nads winning the ball, getting it up the pitch, unselfishly letting Jelly have the chance and the inevitable cycle starting again.
Let the new manager have a quick look then anything greater than breaking even to free up wages if he doesn't fit.
I would be more understanding if he wasn't 'rumoured' to have been looking for a route out in the summer like.

Tabloid fiction, that. The articles which ran that rumour don't even bother to state the fabled "a source close to the player".

Jelavic wouldn't want to move, as he's at the biggest club of his career at what might be seen as peak-age. But if he can't get on with how Moyes wants him to play, and if he can't get his head out of the sand, then he might have to move otherwise he'll end up lost on our benches.

I might be wrong, but I thought Sheeds confirmed that his people were looking to get him a move.
Now the team aren't carrying pip, we can afford a luxury player elsewhere under Moyes I suppose...
