Worst Transfer Window Ever?

Appreciate this may not seem like the worst window in recent years (2011 was a real low point), but for me it is right up there so far.

It's all about how we spend in comparison to other teams. In the previous years mentioned above we didn't spend much, but neither did anyone else (apart from the money clubs). However, this season everyone is spending big apart from us.

Does everyone really think Martinez is carefully biding his time in the market waiting for those perfect 3 players (including the mythical no.10)? Of course he isn't. He can't bring anyone in because we don't have any money.

It's like summer 2013 when ellstone said "we don't need to sell Feli to bid for McCarthy". In a legal sense this is true. you can legally bid 4mil for Messi if you like, doesn't mean it will be accepted though. We all knew this was rubbish and 48 hours later we sold the big lad for 27.5mil and brought in McCarthy for half of that (never to see the other half again!).

In my opinion we are waiting for deadline day to bring in some bargains on the cheap (evans, lennon etc). Of this will change if Stones is sold, which I think he will be.

That is why this summer is up there with the worst for me.

But the argument is always that Lukaku was bought with the Fellaini money, no?

People have no patience whatsoever, this isn't football manager where you buy a player in a day. A tfr window is to be judged at the end, to see if you're in better shape than you were in the beginning.

I'd be surprised if we had everything tied up before deadline day, and that's nothing to do with money, it's to do with if we move early then the likes of Spurs, Arsenal etc. may also move in on the player.

I really don't think this one has been that bad.

Decent early business, kept McCarthy and Mirallas and kept Stones (so far).

Yes we need more and probably should have had them in earlier, but Martinez has constantly assured us 3 more are coming.

It gets frustrating when you're constantly refreshing the page waiting for an announcement, but why not reserve judgement until the window actually closes?

This has been a hugely frustrating transfer window so far (it hasn't closed yet), but this being Everton there must be an even worse one. What was the absolute worst transfer window in terms of losing a key player, getting no players, getting a last minute terrible player, having a great player fail a medical, having a real exciting link turn out to be jarg, etc?
It's not over yet but if it stays this way then yes

Let's be honest, this feels awful because we apparently lost out on 3 players. 2 to West Ham an 1 to Stoke. We've had 3 players sign contracts Kev, McCarthy and of course Garbutt(who was 100% off to the RS)
Hopefully we will bring in a defender and a number 10.
I think Kone might turn up this season and hit double figures

Jesus lid, no.

It's too early to tell. Most on this forum used to think that the window that we signed stones (and that is it) was the worst. This place was up in arms over that one... Now it looks genius.

Radzinski wasnt happy that we only added Cahill and Bent the same summer we took an initial payment of just £10million from United for selling you know who. He (the whiney faced rat) then sodded off to Fulham. Wasnt gutted. We then had a great season and wrapped up fourth. The pain of it being its ten years ago. Time flys when your being annoyed.
