They are up against a wall in an election year. There'll be all kinds of ratings gathering. The US Hawks have been after Iran for years, they'll play it the way the people want. If getting involved is a vote winner then they'll go in hard.

It will be all talk and bravado sending out feelers to get the vote as you say. I would imagine the vast amount of Americans wouldn't entertain the notion of getting involved in major escalations with Iran. The sound of mind ones shouldn't anyway

Not a chance will the yanks involve themselves directly with aggression against Iran. Only if it was absolutely necessary and a last resort

Except that the USA has always looked for a plausible reason to give Iran a kicking, and the fact that they specifically and publicly warned Iran not to do it. If any of these drones or missiles fired by Iran hit any USA bases or interests then the IRGC is probably toast…..

Can’t see this being a genuine attempt at escalation by Iran. If they really wanted to hurt Israel with this strike, then they wouldn’t announce it before they actually landed - all of the personnel will go into safe bunkers and all the defence systems will be on absolute maximum alert knowing exactly what’s coming.

Seems like another face saving fake retaliation just like the strike on the US Iraq base after the Solemini hit.
