Weapons inspectors are just as beholden to rich states as the WHO no? It's the nature of the beast unfortunately. Look at war crimes tribunals that only try Africans because they're the only ones weak enough not to resist them. I think what you say about the WHO applies to most UN organisations: they're only useful in poor countries that no one cares about. They try their best but they're hamstrung. Look at the Security Council. They can't get any kind of meaningful resolution through without US/UK on one side, or Russia/China on the other vetoing it.

Perfect shouldn't be the enemy of the good. I agree with most of what you've said there but I still think something is better than nothing, which is what is currently in place.

Does anyone have confidence in this organisation?

No, it's part of UN, you pay you have your say. Sure it will have some good intentions, however, it will act in the best interest of it revenue stream, and always will under capitalist construct.

Some years ago I had the misfortune to attend the prohibition of drugs that the UN holds yearly, it's where various stakeholders come together to shape policy.

It took about an hour of a very lavish 3 day conference, to work out that such policy is shaped by the various companies that supply law enforcement agencies round the world and many of the charity's are funded by the same companies or their banks. There is no appetite to tackle or eradicate drug misuse. Plenty of desire to manage it, kerching. And it well known and joked, if City London and financial sector disappeared overnight every drug cartel in the world would collapse within weeks.

Purely self promoting and serving to the highest bidder, under the guise of the greater good. Sure there is good people working inside of it, however, how much they have to compromise their science conviction and beliefs, is anyone's guess, I would say lots, to even make marginal changes for the good.

Thanks for the answer on 5G. Why are you obsessed with the WHO? I'm not absolving them...they are a bureaucratic institution. I'm just not sure why they are the targeted talking-point on right-wing media. I'm wondering if this ties into the whole New world order nonsense, and the anti-globalization/pro-nationalism on the right/fringe-right

I want answers, like alot of people do and this organisation is one avenue that hasn't received much public attention to date. We have found already that they have been making political decisions instead of health ones particularly regarding Taiwan. One wonders why it is a stretch for you to consider that they could actually have made a political one in helping China to cover this up and delay things that are within WHOs control to help China with their agenda. The more pressure that is brought to bear the more we will find out. That seems reasonable to me and public interest, not fringe/pro-nationalism/anti-globalisation/new world order.
