You couldn’t play him by himself as the only defensive midfielder, he’d need a Gana or a McCarthy in there with him much like Barry did. For that reason we’d be better off going for someone else. It’d be far better having one defensive mid with Sigurdsson and a box to box like Davies in there.

You can't even compare Carvahlo to schneiderlin. William often starts the counter attack for portugal with clever through balls and rarely passes backwards. Morgan doesn't have a clever pass in him. Only see him pass sideways or backwards and could never pick out a run from one of our wingers. Hes also a rat.

Agreed. Carvahlo drives his team forward and pushes up the field really well. He doesn’t just sit there as a 6 and never move forward. And he can cover and stay with athlete players in the middle of the pitch, he’s a more fluid athlete than Morgan and bigger and stronger as well. He’s absolutely critical for Portugal and is just dominant in central midfield. He’s good.

If he’s second to kante, why aren’t city, Utd, spurs and arsenal falling over themselves to buy him. As they all seem to be after a hard working midfielder this summer.

You’re definitely overrating Gana. He’s the best of a bad bunch for us but he’s pretty average on the ball, his lack of height isn’t ideal either.

I actually think Gueye would look better with a Carvalho type sitting behind him. Could free him up a bit and see him winning the ball higher upfield.

• What we actually need is 4 across the back, two sitting defensive mids to protect them, a creative mid fielder in front of those 2, 2 wide men, a centre forward and another playing off him. We just need to devise a way of getting 12 players on the pitch.

It looks like schneiderlin will be sold, besic isn't going to make it here so I reckon we'll look at offloading him. Rooney is almost done.

I just saw a post saying sell Gana and Mccarthy and buy one. We'd have that one person and Davies as our only center mids haha wtf are we going to do? Buy four central midfielders this summer. The more I look at it, the more I believe we have to keep Mccarthy now.

I think we'll only buy one centre mid so would only sell Rooney plus besic and only schneiderlin if we desperately need to.
