This is the perfect decision by Premier league. The league cannot afford another lockdown, with all the fixture list pile-up, with the added economic constraint on all the smaller clubs, it's just asking for trouble, especially with an illness that has a survival rate of 99% and has little to zero impact on professional footballers. If there are any COVID outbreaks on teams, it'd be sensible to cancel that individual game only and still allow the league to happen.

I've purposely kept out of the virus chat but this is untrue and anyway, the reason for upping the tier level is to help the very stretched hospitals cope with the ever increasing life threatening cases.

My next door neighbor's just died from it, 65, type 2 diabetic but otherwise in shape and looking forward to retiring this year after 30 years as a paramedic.
