Will Everton EVER win the Premier League??

I guess you would need to look at the squad and see who could honestly play for a Title winning team.

Baines, Gibson, Heitinga, Jagielka, Fellaini, Jelavic, Pienaar.

Bit early to judge Mirallas.

So that would mean.

15m
10m -- Heitinga -- Jagielka -- Baines
Gibson -- Fellaini
25m ------------ Pienaar
35m
Jelavic

Then another 50m on squad players.

Jobs a good un.

cant argue with the back three because a combination of kompany, lescott and kolarov/clichy just won the league. however, if gibson is good enough to win the league, why wasn't he winning it with man utd last season? and why was pienaar not good enough for spurs but would be good enough to win the league?apologies if you were being sarcastic.

we've proved we can beat any team on our day AT HOME, apart from that time we nearly won at the emirates, we haven't come too close to beating any of the original top 4 away from home and it's been a while since we were beating spurs with ease and our record at eastlands will soon chance. honestly if we had 100m this summer, without europe distracting us and a newly eager moyes we could have challenged. had we had the investement the RS made, i'm sure we would have been a lot closer to challenging and definitely wouldn't have gone backwards with regards to league position

Agree with all of this, however... You'd then need another £50-75m minimum to get the squad depth sorted to cope for injuries. A top class defensive mid, another striker etc.

It's crazy how far off a decent club like us are from even breaking the Champions League spots.

Gibson and Pienaar are both different players for us than they were for Spurs/United, it could be argued that neither was given a real chance at their former Clubs.

I judged them both on how they play for us and personally think they are both superb players.

Depth would be the biggest issue, as we have seen, without Gibson and with Fellaini playing in the hole we really do lack any sort of quality in the middle of the park and we painfully miss a playmaker.

But then we dont know what kind of player Mirallas will be, I personally think he will be a player of real quality, so play the lid on the left, Pienaar in the hole and clearly buying Moutinho would win us the World Cup and CL.

Which would leave us with needing an entire right side, a GK and top quality back up or replacement for Jelavic.

Talking well in excess of 150m all in and even then we would be light in "some" areas, but then the current squad is full of decent back up.

Voted yes, no point in supporting a team if you don't expect them to achieve the ultimate gola in your lifetime. This opinion could well be construed as overly optimistic, but with a good relatively injury free season even the current squad would be capable.

If we qualified for the CL this season and the board didn't invest a sizeable amount in the squad then we would really struggle next year. I don't think the squad we have has any chance of coping with European competition and finishing top 6 at the same time.

Whilst I agree with you in principle I don't think we would need to spend as much as you think. Obviously if new owners came in with money to burn your figures are prob about right for guaranteed success but call me an old romantic but I think moyes could get us challanging with 50M or so. It makes the money the RS blew so frustrating as I believe we'd be right up there if we'd had that to invest.

If u added...

Butland to the Goalkeepers

Dubuchey to the defenders

Donovan - Holtby - Ofoe to the midfielders

And a good quality CF to battle with jelavic.

How much would that cost about 30M??
Would that improve us enough to be outside challangers?

Well seeing as the girls are doing well - second in the league I may start watching them. The girls got a very good chance of winning their league.

Not in my lifetime, barring a rich investor. if we get a Sheikh mansoor type then yes, Man City were crap before him so anything is possible. not sure we'll ever get our Sheikh now with the financial fair play stuff.

The answer is yes .. fact.
I know this to be true because I wrote fact afterwards which mean its not a guess so its deffinately happening.
