The difference is that gylfi was not a winger in any capacity. The difference between left wing and right wing is not that great. We currently have 2 left footed wingers and 2 right footed wingers (if iwobi counts, maybe gnonto takes his spot so he can play centrally). So this lack of balance that keeps being touted is massively over stated.
Which footballer do we have in the squad that can create a threat on goal by getting to the byline from the right?

£25M + bid for a player who cost Leeds £4M and helped take them through the trap door into the Championship.

Guess how much we'd get if we were selling such a player if we were in the Championship...about our money back on him if we were lucky.

Anyway, it's all smoke and mirrors.

what does it matter what he cost? We signed onana for 30m last summer qnd probably wouldn't sell for less than 60/70m now.

Values go up massively when people do well in this league

If you play in the right way anyone who has even a half decent right foot. Which means everyone who can play out wide in our squad that isn't called Dwight McNeil. Harrison is basically two footed from what I've seen of him, so even he could.

Also, it's odd for you to pick out a very specific way of attacking to claim we don't have players that can play right wing. One of the best in the prem era in Beckham rarely resorted to this.

We shouldn't sign Gnonto cause we have Dobbin as our 4th best LW already, and do not have 1 single RW in the squad.*
What defines who are right and left wingers? You? Where they have played previously?

Many managers prefer to play with inverted wingers. Cutting in and be a goal threat with their best foot. Left footed on the right, right footed on the left.

That is usually not the case for Dyche teams. His wide players stay wide and he seems to always prefer left footed on the left and right footed on the right.

Pretty sure Danjuma got most of his minutes for Spurs on the right. Including his only start.

The standard does not apply to "The Best in the Prem Era". Special Footballers do special things.

If a squad cannot create chances from both sides it makes them easy to defend against.
