It means exactly what it says mate. We've been shocking for the previous two seasons and that wasn't going to be fixed overnight. Did you just think Koeman (or any replacement for Martinez) was going to be able to come into the club and wave a magic wand to fix everything? This season is one for Koeman to size up the players who he wants/doesn't want and rebuild accordingly. These things take time, I know we live in an age were everyone wants everything RIGHT NOW but in the real world it isn't going to happen.
Well excuse me sir, but if you think giving him a "transitional season" is all the time he, or any manager, needs to rebuild a side then you are to be numbered among those people looking for their fix "RIGHT NOW".
There is no "transitional season" in football.
I remember the Mancs talking about Moyes's season as a "transitional season".
Nearly four years later they are still in "transition".
Everton might be a club in "transition" both on and off the pitch but it ain't going to happen during the course of one "transitional season".
