Why so negative?

This board was and to be honest, still is, the place I come to read Everton stuff. Why has it become so toxic though?

I (and I`m sure there are others out there) am getting fed up of the negativity on here.

We, as Evertonians have been through some [Poor language removed] times, but we still love the club.

We are still one of the most successful teams in the world in terms of history and top flight football.

Criticism is part of the game, but the match threads in particular are an embarrassment.

Why is this?

Well, it could be simply a matter of people holding a different opinion to your good self and having a platfirm....i.e. GOT....to express it.

And let's be honest, there is precious little to be positive about on the pitch this season.

GOT is merely reflecting this :(

As a rule we ain't happy clappy chappies even when things are going well, never mind when the fayre set before us almost every week is as brutal as it has been this past three months

We've just managed to escape with a point against the bottom of the table club, and you're wondering why we're so negative..?

We may be historically one of the most decorated clubs in the country, but the irony is that many living evertonians have never known anything but struggle, year after year.
So, dissing the club at every moment, no matter how tenuous is going to help that?

Fans of any of the other so-called "big clubs" would never have stood for the sort of inept management that we have endured for the last 20 years, and rightly so, so why should we? We have an inferiority complex that we can't compete with the others, and so always fall back on our "rich history" to make us feel all warm and fuzzy whenever we take it up the a$$ from the other clubs who have positioned themselves better to take advantage of the EPL than the imberciles at the helm of our our club, which is pretty much week-in week-out these days.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but constant negativity does not help. I know it doesn't`t make a lot of difference here really, but it does affect the overall mood of the place and it probably puts people off being here or commenting to the contrary as it seems to be the norm/run of the mill. When I get this negative crap at the match constantly it becomes very tiresome and counterproductive.

To be fair, you need to take the first 20 minutes away from the 90 minutes!
We still need positivity though!

Nothing that is said on here effects what happens on the pitch.

I'm negative because our squad is generally populated with lazy brainless players but thats just me.

It`s boring though - it is like sitting next to the c..t at the match

We are extremely frustrating to watch. Not enough pace in attack, lacking speed of thought. This team reminds me of our teams in the 1990s, at the end of the game you are tearing your hair out.
