Why does this happen?

I would love the fans to get a boycott going for our next home game against Palace.

Wont happen like but would love us to make a stand and let the players and club know we have had enough.

You would have thought the FA Cup Derby would have been the result that kicked the players/club up the backside but apparently not.
What would that achieve?

You think they’re not absolutely gutted that we somehow managed to concede 2 injury time goals last night?

Ridiculous

convinced were more of a state of mind than a football club these days!

some terrible decision making in the build up to the goal, delph hoofing it to their left back straight after the kick for starters

jesus christ

We've nabbed a manager who has done EVERYTHING. How many times do you think over the last 20 years he has won trophies shutting down games to get results. All managers still do it. Prob just dont notice it as job was done.
We have average players on huge wages.
This will take time.

It all comes down to the culture at the club for me. For far to long the endless defeats and unacceptable performances have just been shrugged off, we've been built up to be a club that is good enough to survive in the league but is capable of doing absolutely nothing else. Expectations and standards are non-existent at the club. We'd never be able to turn a result around like Newcastle did yesterday because our players would of downed tools at 2-0 and probably ended up losing 3 or 4-0. I don't want to get into who's responsible for us being that way as everyone at the club is playing their part in making us this bad.

All I know is that until we see an attitude change at the club we'll never get better. We could have the best players in the world, we could have a mix of Barcelona and Real Madrid players and we'd still get results like last night. The losers mentality is ingrained into this club and until there's a culture shift we're finished.

It's not a lack of effort though by them it's just an unerring ability to be crap.

The worst thing is that that I don't know how you fix it either

You'd need a monster clear out at all levels of the club, which isn't going to happen

I'm convinced more than ever now that we're never going to win anything ever again, even with Ancelotti at the helm

This club is just too broken and I don't think he'll be given enough leeway to fix it. He'll go and his replacement will face the same issues. The cycle of misery will continue

Mentality. Said in another post that Holgate and Delph aside, there is no attitude and steel in the team.
We seem to have bought players without looking at their personalities and their will to win.
Pickford and Mina clowning around, Coleman and Davies meek and mild.
It's one of the reasons that faced with Sidibe V Kenny next season, I am now leaning towards Kenny as he seems fiery and wants to win.
I'd love to think that what happened last night would make them bitter and incensed to win, but I think with the majority of them it isn't in their make-up.

This is really grim now. Even a massive purge of the players wouldn't just fix things, there needs to be a purge of people at the top of this club at boardroom level who are dragging us down and fostering this losers mentality on the club. Neither of those things are happening so ultimately there isn't a solution. All we can hope for in the years to come is a "good season" where we end up real contenders for the nose bleeding nose heights of 6th place! There's just to much to do and the powers that be at the club don't have the motivation to do it.
