Why can't we beat the ****e at Anfield?

True mate, but tactics are a big part of it. Can we manage to counter theirs? I haven't seen it. But with Mirallas in our team, I think we've got a great chance. He showed that in October, before he got stood on by rat face, and I believed we would of won it if he didn't go off.

Having every one fit is key and available. So hopefully Pienaar or Fellaini doesn't do something stupid the game before. Because it always seems to happen to us.

Well that's where he does need to earn his keep, he clearly concentrates so much on the bigger picture ( see toffeedans post above!) to, and I say this hoping I'm wrong, fully focus the teams ability on tactics, can you say we have ever fully battered them? I can't say we have! Which harks back to the other thread of " playing a match that really mattered and won!".

We need the siege mentality mate, we beat citeh because of IMO they tried to take the piss over the lescott deal, add to that Mancini and moyes having a scrap and him saying Rodders left to a team that can win trophies has given us that mentality of wanting to **** them, same when Suarez did that celebration infront of Moyes he fired the lads up but we need Moyes to do that same thing in the dressing room make them angry, make them want to destroy them, but instead he plays it down I remember when he was asked were we favourites for one of the derby games recently and he said no, he should be saying yes how we have the quality and how we will get right up them thats the attitude we need.

I totally agree mate! Not one word of what you said can be said any better! He doesn't play the mind games game well at all! That Suarez example made every single one of the staff look idiotic, it was a brilliant big [Poor language removed] you from Suarez.

Moyes needs to watch that and learn from it!

Imagine your own manager( whatever you do for a living) been made to look like that on his own turf?

Steven Gerrard.
ALWAYS ups his games for the derbies, whether it be that key dive or ****y challenge or driving them murderers on.
He always always does it.
Even when he doesn't play, he lifts them.

Swerve blaming Moyes etc, Stevie Me.
This years the one we'll do them though, lets have it Kopites

True, having something to play for i.e European qualification will be important.

I don't think we've ever battered them, well I haven't seen them do it anyway.

I do think Anfield is a big part of why we never get a result there.

No, I think he just understands the passion and importance of not going missing for a single second or missing a blade of grass for fear of losing the game.

Some of our lads or manager to e perfectly honest could do with a little bit of that type of passion.

Whether or not it's Steven Gerard GBH, no one argues his contribution to the cause, in the not so distant past, particularly..

3-0 in 2006 was a battering - but just about the only one in living memory with the odd 2 goal win thrown in. We've only come from behind to beat them once (early 90s) as far as I know.

Some have said, for 45 minutes at wembley etc, and the AJ derby? Over nearly 11 years! That's pathetic really. I think we bossed them for the first half last season as well when Gerard did his platoon impression.

You're supporting my point lad, we need someone like him in a derby if we're going to go and win one, especially away from home.
Just hope Barkley is all that because it's obvious that lad knows the passion and understands it, Osman Baines Anichebe etc all play with passion and that but you need someone in the centre of the park to drive the team on and lift it.

Spot on, which also supports my #9 theory for vic! It's a comical notion at first, but I reckon he would do well. ..

..Or do really crap! His persistence is to be really lauded though.

I think bainsey has the passion in him and the snide cerainly( I've seen it first hand) only so much he can do from LB though!

Agree. Anichebe should be in with a shout for this derby though, always normally does start but especially this season.
BIG VIC PROVING THE HATERS WRONG SINCE 2012

If Barkley turned out to be what we all hope and pray for though.. I think we'll see a fair few derby wins at Anfield come our way, they've not got their ''Next Gerrard'' and won't have any time soon.

Yawn

5 times in over 40 years isn't it ?

Kid yourselves on that if we rid ourselves of Moyes then the new man will have us winning there every season
