Lampard has had offers though. He’d be my choice.

It seems Lampard, Rooney and Gerrard have translated their ability on the field to managing. I know Lampard got booted at Chelsea but so does anyone who fails to win everything there is in a season. I would be inclined to get Rooney, not because he played for us, simply because he is doing an amazing job at Derby, would keep us up and could develop very well over the next season or two. I had never really looked at what he was doing and could not believe someone suggested him a few weeks ago. Now I see why.

He is a risk as they all are but I would prefer to Potter. Rooney understands the highest level and is cutting it having to get his hands very dirty with Derby. Martinez to keep us up makes me feel sick.

There are hardly any players left from Martinez time. Those who remain like Coleman will get bombed out. He could rebuild the squad with a young Belgium core. His style of play is much better than Silva, Big Sam, Koeman . Benitez.
