Who is taking over Cahill

There's an interesting article on footyscene.com about this I believe.

"One of my favourite memories of Tim is actually at the beginning of THAT 1-0 win against Man United at Goodison. I remember distinctly Roy Keane, one of my favourite midfielders of all time, come in and whack Tim right in the shins in the opening few minutes. The Park End were absolutely incredulous but give it maybe 5 minutes later and Cahill gave Keane his change, smashing into him and sending him flying across the turf! The one thing about that incident which struck me most was what happened next – rather than fly off the handle in good old ‘Keano’ fashion, the Irishman picked himself up off the floor, started laughing and patted Tim on the back of the neck – a show of respect if ever I’d seen one and that incident told me everything I needed to know about Tim Cahill – he was a fighter, never one to shirk away from a challenge and if someone challenged him and he didn’t agree with it, he’d let them know about it and he wouldn’t give them a moment’s peace – just ask Nemanja Vidic!"

Decent little read that Browns, well done Son.

Lescott was played LB for over a season before settling into CB, he even kept Baines out. Remember that?
Remember when everyone was injured and Cahill and Fellaini were played up front?
Moyes has always valued versatile players, Hibbert played CB last season, Osman has played everywhere bar in goal.
I'd like to see Fellaini play AM in support of Jelavic, opposition defenses wont know where to start, and opposition defensive midfielders wont get anywhere near Felli. If they get tight he wins in the air, and anyone good enough to out jump him will get pummeled with service on the deck.

I have a feeling it'll be Osman and Pienaar cutting inside from either flank with Naismith playing closer to Jelavic, as a second striker. Fellaini and Gibson getting the nod in the middle of the park.

IIRC seconds before half time Keane challenged for a header with Tim and the two of them hit each other so hard that Cahill was sick as he was coming off the pitch. Was also a note worthy game because Gary Neville got a red card for attacking the crowd. Not a common sending off that.

I agree, Fellaini is unplayable.

I think most peoples thought are that hes not an AM, hes more a DM, which is correct, hes utterly superb at DM.

But I personally feel he can play anywhere and still boss games.

We would all rather see Barkley there tho, thats for damn sure.

I dont get it with Barkley, I will defend Moist till the cows come home, but not playing Barkley makes me scratch my head on a daily basis.

I dont.

I think it will be Naismith Right, Pienaar left, Fellaini in the AM hole, Gibson and Rodwell holding.

I can't see him dropping Osman.

I dunno mate, I think its make or break for Rodwell this Season, I can see Moyes giving him a good run, stoking up interest for January.

The other players pick themselves, I think Gibson, Fellaini are must plays, they make us tick, whereever Fellaini plays, I think Naismith will be given a run to see what hes about, for me that leaves Osman as the odd one out.

I mean this is null and void if we get Donovan.

In which case Osman is definitely the one that's gonna be left out.

Gibson Neville
Anichebe Fellaini Pienaar

I reckon that will happen when Naismith's knees explode.
