Who is taking over Cahill

I would like to see Osman given a chance there. It will never happen though.

I don't see why there is some 'God Of Football' who decrees that once you have been given a 'position', you have to stay there forever., amen. Osman can shoot, head and dribble. He's also got a bit of pace. Does he hAVE to be a midfielder always?

He's been tried there before and not done that well. His shooting can be very inconsistent, against centre halves he hasn't got much chance in the air and he is neither strong or pacy enough to get the better of them either. Osman has a good touch and is very good at keeping possession in tight areas and linking up play. He would be wasted in that role imo.

I thought he was boss last season up until the suarez afair and then his injury, i think he'll get lots of game time this season and show us what he is capable of.

People expect too much from Rodwell, and are happy to sell, if he does not turn into a worldy !

So what if he doesnt get to that level, still a very decent prem player, and cost us nothing.....and still got 2 England caps!!

If he didnt improve, and say we had another Osman level player for 10 years, is that such a bad thing ???

I think scoring 4 goals in 3 successive PL matches last year suggests otherwise. We were at our best last year with him there.

I'm quite sure we'd be better with an actual CAM playing CAM, and the best defensive mid in the league playing defensive mid.

He's played there more than 3 times, as you know.

Not necessarily.

Fellaini is our best defensive mid and our best CAM. But we have others who can do a good job at defensive mid (Gibson, Rodwell, Neville, Junior???) Wheras at CAM it would be Osman, Naismith or Barkley. Osman wouldn't be great, Barkley won't be first choice and Naismith we can't really comment on until we've seen him more.
