Depends, with Gomes coming back, misfiring Chelsea, weak Arsenal, injury ravaged United, City being booted from the CL and Spurs now apparently missing both Son and Kane for the rest of the season it’s possible to get some form of Europe...

It was actually that Norwich 3-0 game may 2016 when Unsworth took charge few days after Martinez was sacked, we have finished at Arsenal/West Ham-both 3-1 defeats and that spurs 2-2 last season--2014 at hull our last day win

Seems beards ago that game.

Davies first team debut?

Remember being dead impressed by him that day, shame he hasnt progressed much since!

Was quite impressed by Utd last night. Chelsea, in comparison, looked clueless, and Arsenal (in the second half at least) against Newcastle looked to have team spirit returning. Consistency is what all 3 of them are lacking (and us) compared to their teams of the past 10 years say.

I feel like United and Arsenal are both there for the taking. Newcastle could have scored, before Arsenal did, and the var/ref were a complete farce last night, and made sure United won. We have a great chance of 6th imo. I still see Chelsea coming 4th and Sheffield, Wolves, or even us could get 5th. I honestly believe we are better than United and Arsenal at the moment, and Spurs are running out of strikers. 2 wins from the next 4 will keep us in with a chance, can we win away to Arsenal or Chelsea?

This Arsenal game is massive, it’ll show whether Carlo can get anything out of this group. If Richarlison can get at Luiz, who knows, we might pull off an unlikely win.

I would hope under Carlo we become alot smarter with these sorts of thing - how many times in recent years have we played teams with crap defences or a 3rd choice GK playing and not even tested them?

Carlo should be saying to Richarlison stay attached to Luiz the whole game and draw in any foul you can.

I've been looking through the rest of the season - at the six pointers really. It makes interesting reading. I've complied a list of who the opposition are playing either side of the Everton game.

There probably isn't a better time to play Arsenal, Tottenham (if they get passed Leipzig), and Wolves (if they make it that far in the Europa League). Leicester could be involved in an FA Cup Quarter Final, and possibly a replay, so that also works for us (I think Rodgers will prioritize the FA Cup, if his league position is safe).

I follow FiveThirtyEight mainly for their politics forecasting, but they're also pretty good with sport stuff. They use statistical modelling to predict all sorts of things.

They currently give us a 10% chance of getting into the Champions League this season, up from 3% before City's ban (the forecast assumes their appeal won't succeed). We were as low as 1% in December.

They also give us a 48% chance of finishing top 8, and therefore likely a European place with City's ban, and a 33% chance of top 7 (probably Europe without City's ban).

It's all cold, hard stats - but it's worth having a look.

Their 'Soccer Power Index' (you'll have to forgive the Americanisms) has us as the 8th strongest team in the league, sandwiched between Tottenham and Arsenal.

wherever we finish will be a farce, as will everyones positions the amount of games VAR has affected negatively and in such a way that rules have been changed mid season, which I find highly bizarre and unfair. I will not recognise LFC as true champions, how ironic that the cheating season is the season they've won it by a canter. Truly are Satan FC

8 points behind 4th spot with a worse GD - there goes CL.

All about Europa now - need to get points on the board.

Indeed there goes champions league we dreamed all season put alas! It just was a bridge too far in the end.

Shake it like a Polaroid picture ForeverBlue.
