If that's the place getting up towards Carlisle I stayed there for a night in a b&b about 20 years ago. Had a nice little pub down the road from where I stayed
Its up by penrith about half an hour off the M6. We get jobs there from Liverpool. And they're usually nonsense which just piss you off after a 3 hour drive

There`s a lot of places like that in the UK.
Two of my oldest mates live in a lovely littel village on the West Coast of Cumbria, which has a village hall, a primary school and a seasonal cafe for passing cyclists.
The nearest shop is a five mile drive away.
In the Winter, it just rains for months on end too

The town centre is like stepping onto another planet, but once you start heading out, ( both North and South ) it becomes nice again.
