i haven't seen enough of McCarthy to say, Fellaini on his day was a beast, but he doesn't play for us now, so i'll go with McCarthy

He played a few games up front ish but for most of his career he was a defensive midfielder and a cracking one too.

That's an absolute slight on some of the players who have played in midfield for Everton.

Come on, nobody can doubt how good Fellaini was as a defensive midfielder, nothing could get past him. I think we got robbed selling him for a mere 28million, especially when the likes of Bale are being sold for 80 million.

I'd rather have Fellaini, if I have to choose one or the other.

But, presuming Martinez gets to spend it in Jan, I'd rather have McCarthy and £15m than Fellaini, which is what we ended up with by my count.

Got to disagree, on his day excellent behind the forward. Never a defensive centre mid, too slow and lacks concentration.
