What the hell is happening!!!!!!

I can't help but be excited right now after many years of utter dross. I have no way of really expressing my thoughts other than ranting to you lot. This is unprecedented. Never before has this happened. Everton are making sure they're movers and shakers this season.

It's a good feeling no doubt! ;) We have to keep our feet on the ground still, but we have put ourselves in the best possible position to have a good crack. If we finish top 5/6 narrowing the gap to 4th to a small amount of points and with decent cup performances, the feel good factor will be even greater next summer and then we can really look to get some world class players in. :drunk:

It is good but we do need to keep a sense of perspective.

Bolasie and Coleman are out probably until Christmas and time will tell the impact of their injuries.

Pickford is an improvement on Robles but he has been bought for his potential - who knows how he will settle.

Sandro and Klaassen may be class and great in the EPL or may not work out - we don't know.

Keane is an improvement but will he make a huge difference - depends a lot on the others around him.

If we lose Lukaku there is big hole to fill.

Seems to me that we are probably looking for a steady improvement this year (but possibly not higher up the league) with the following season being the real test.

If Lukaku goes we probably need two decent strikers to replace him. Rooney and Giroud would not be my choices but if Moshiri is after Marquee signings then they probably tick the right box. Their performance may be a different thing.

If the club signed a real out of the blue marquee signing then that is when we should lose all sense of perspective. At the moment its looking a lot like a small net spend if that kind of thing rocks your boat.

Kinda the point of the thread - just to wallow in the uniqueness of Everton FC taking the market by the scruff of the neck - and doing it so early!!

This must be what a unicorns orgasm feels like as he unleashes his rainbow-coloured load over a castle of princesses!

Glad I posted in the right place. So happy right now.

The cups are important to me tbh. Shows we mean a bit of business. Europa of course too. We look ok so far though. Couple more and I'll be doubling up on my meds!!!!!:Blink:

I hear you - but honestly if Lukaku was sold tomorrow and we didn't buy anyone else - I would say the squad is stronger overall, full of youth and desire - some of the most sought-after english talent being added along with fancy foreigners on the side.

I assume Lukaku is gone - Of course he was goals on toast, but only if we played to HIS strengths. I think Sandro and perhaps another decent striker is enough because the team will be scoring in more ways than "lay-it-on-a-plate-for-Romelu".

Taking even the most pessimistic view - this is a NEW Everton that gets it **** done by the START OF THE TRANSFER WINDOW instead of scraping up a couple of naysmiths and a Niasse at the eleventh hour :)

The little I've seen of the players we've signed (Don't know anything about Onyekuru or the MickaelAngelo fella but the 4 main ones who look ready made first teamers), the impression I get is they've all got a good attitude aswell as potential to be top notch players.

Ron and Steve are building a good squad - and just as importantly their squad:

Moyes: Jags, Baines, Seamus, Kev, plus Ross(?) (youth)
Martinez: Robles, McCarthy(?), (McGeady), Barry, Besic, Lukaku(?), RFM, Galloway, Lennon, Holgate, (Tarashaj), (Sambou), Niasse(?), (Rodriguez)
Ron/Steve: Stek, Gana Gueye, Williams, Bolasie, DCL, Lookman, Schneiderlin, Pickford, Klaasen, Onyekuru (loaned out), Sandro, Keane

Academy: Browning, Davies - U23 Squad: Kenny, Dowell, Walsh, Connolly, Pennington etc

So taking into account probable departures (in italics/brackets) that's around 30 players challenging for a place and we've never been that strong or had so much promise and youth at our disposal.

Think the best way to put it is that we've gone and got our four main targets (in terms of areas we - as the squad stood at the end of last term - desperately needed bolstering) in quickly.

That's a huge positive, and we now have a core of the team to build around. Hopefully Ross stays, ideally Rom would but I think that's just not going to happen.

72 million spent before the transfer window even opens....

We have beaten the net spend for every decade of our history already ... I can't handle it ... Some part of my brain is refusing to process the Everton I see before me today

It's the sign of the apocalypse.

It's neat to see us spend all this money but the world is going to end before we see a ball kicked.

Perhaps that's why Moshiri is spending all this to begin with?

Transfer window so far:
