Firstly, to give credit where it’s due: I appreciate the genuine response. Not what I was expecting and that is certainly more a reflection on me than you.

To the matter at hand, though, it seems then that we are talking nothing more than semantics. Establishments might use such whimsical terms as “gents”, “ladies”, “cowboys”, “cowgirls”, “lads”, “lasses”, etc. Irrespective of the genitals we came out of the womb with, we must all make a decision in those circumstances as to which designation we assign to ourselves, no?

It can indeed be a murky topic, and I am certain that a very small minority will attempt to muddy the waters of their own gender identity in order to do wrong, but ultimately my stance is and always will be that I’m all for the thing that causes the fewest young people - including, god forbid, my children - to feel massively alienated, and cause themselves harm or worse because of it.

Until cis/het men (of which I am one) take consistent and proactive action to lessen the danger to women, I will always have a hard time accepting the disingenuous “danger to women” anti-trans argument.

In an attempt to repay your good faith response I will say this: I am sorry your boss’s wife endured such a horrible ordeal and sincerely hope all are brought to justice, whatever their gender identity.

It is ALMOST like you are using this particular tale as a flimsy justification for your otherwise baseless anti-trans stance.

With respect to rights, there are many female spaces, sporting competitions, etc that trans women don’t currently have access to, as I’m sure you well know.

This is my take.

I'm all for trans rights - as long as they don't impede the rights and opportunities of biological women.

Trans women in biological women's sports? No. We as men hold too much of a physical advantage - regardless of testosterone, this is just the impact of male puberty. Sorry but no, you can either compete in an open category or one that aligns with your sex - not gender.

Women's spaces/WC's etc - is tricky. Trans women should never be in a rape shelter or domestic violence shelter, that should just be common sense to me.

As for the 'danger to women' bit, that's all I've heard regarding the trans community first hand so my opinion is formed through this.

I'm sure genuine gender dysphoria is horrific - I have body dysmorphia so I can only imagine the pain they endure... However I also know autogynaephilia is real, and trans rights give actual fetishists and predators legal access to what used to be safe spaces for women - without the capability of proving who is a genuine trans woman, or a pervert in a dress.

This is my take on it, we need to take caution otherwise 'women', will be eradicated for the benefit of men.

JK Rowling tends to be used by the media as a means to deflect from news that would paint the 'trans' community in a bad light.

Just a couple of examples. The story was that she was that horrible that she attacked online the mermaids charity for trans people.

The real story was that she was calling that one of the people running it was a nonce.

Or recently it was a dispute with former harry potter actors on twitter.

The real story was that WPATH , (world professional association transgender health) had leaked messages where they admitted to knowing they haven't got research on the treatment they are giving kids and know that the kids they are treating as transgender are not old enough to understand it.

I think on subjects like this, people don't seem to realise that what they are basing their opinions on don't take into account the news they are not seeing that would possibly alter their viewpoint. As such is the case about the WPATH files.

So in my opinion, this whole woke discussion point is not based on anything other than what people are exposed to and manipulated to be exposed to on the internet. With algorithms everywhere and god knows what else, the information we see is controlled to an extent. Hence why the WPATH story was not featured but what jk Rowling thinks of harry potters thoughts was.

And to anyone who will most probably reply to this to tell me how wrong I am, on what basis are you really disagreeing with it over? Other than that it directly opposite to your own thoughts?

No that's absolutely fine - everyone is entitled to an opinion, opinions are formed on experiences. My experiences differ therefore my opinion does.

Genuinely not trolling, and wouldn't wish anyone harm - but when it comes to anything trans, I don't trust them as far as I can throw them.
