What if Liverpool won the title?

City have Nastasic and Jovetic coming back soon and they'll both be big boosts, Aguero's injury isn't as bad a first feared. Hopefully they don;t rush him back for the derby, as basically they shouldn't even need him.

If City beat United, Fulham, Villa, West Ham, Palace, Sunderland, West Brom and Southampton (only the palace and united games are away) they'll be on 84 points, they only need a draw with Liverpool to pretty much guarantee they'll finish ahead of them. As this gives them 85 points and Liverpool will only be able to get a maximum of 87 points.

City would need two more points from the games against City and ourselves. I'm sure we'd oblige if they needed more.

Liverpool aren't going to win. Relax.

Saw they're after Rodrigo £25m, hopefully this goes through as this wipes out the CL revenue in one fell swoop and they'll incur another £50m loss. Lovely stuff.[/QUOTE]

Then they will be banned from europe and fall into a cycle of doom :)

we can only hope....

You should be a shrink mate, I feel better already, thanks.

Too quick to judge? A team that destroys Arsenal, and gave City and Chelsea a run for their money wouldn't be trashed in the CL.

Played Arsenal 3 times this season. Lost 2, won 1..at home.

We gave Chelsea a run for their money and beat them at home...we'd struggle in Europe.

It would make my grandad turn in his grave as he was from L4 and bought me up to want Liverpool to win anything that Everton didn't, but he was from a different time and nowadays you're the last team I'd hope to see win anything at all, let alone the bleedin' title, having put up with years of southern reds who I've been to Anfield more times than acting the maggot whenever Liverpool achieve anything of note. I know how insufferable they'd be.

A little disclaimer first.

I'm a Liverpool fan. Not going to hide that.

And, honestly, i can't stand Chelsea. Been grinding out results all season. Hardly ever played well. Defence has been rock solid though.

City are the best team in the league. But they are bloody inconsistent. FFS. Beating Norwich 7-0 at home to draw to Norwich 0-0 away? What a load of [Poor language removed].

I'd honestly like to know, if Liverpool won the title, would Everton fans actually be happier with us winning it, rather than Chelsea or maybe Arsenal to win it?

Yeah we're local rivals, but meh, we are still part of the city of Liverpool. Better for our city to win it than others eh?

We still play Spurs, City and Chelsea at home.

I'd say our home form is excellent. We thwacked Arsenal 5-1 and we obviously then beat you 4-0 there. We technically demolish teams for fun there. Spurs probably will come to get a beating, and if City are going to play like the way they did against Wigan, we'll beat them too.
Chelsea? The annoying Jose will try his best to prevent a defeat for his team, because he knows that if we don't beat them, he'll probably win the title.

Welcome, to answer your question. Anyone but Liverpool.

That's my honest answer.

As echoed in a previous post - i just don't see where they'll drop points, and they'll be beating city for certain at Anfield so we really are relying on Chelsea

Oh, and ourselves to lose to city. Brilliant.

Apart from the great chelsea and arsenal side's, no team has ever had a perfect run in.

As long as we have EL wrapped up by then, if a City win is the only thing that will keep Liverpool from winning the title, I won't mind us losing. There, I said it. NEA.

I could never wish Liverpool well in anything.I have my own issues with Man City Arsenal and Chelsea as well. But i just can't wish Liverpool well in anything.Their fans are already a cocky enough shower as it is.I just don't subscribe to this merseyside togetherness theory. It's just the way i am and that's the way Liverpool decided it would be with the way their players and supporters have treated us over the years.Do people expect me to wish a club who's former players, current players and supporters have tried to drag the name of our great club through the gutter over the years all the best?

Some posters are not old enough to have seen these weapons celebrate a league title (it has been 25 years like!). When they do experience it (whenever that may be) they'll soon be disabused of how 'not arsed' they say they're going to be.

To answer your original question. No chance would I be happy for the RS to win the title, in fact if I'm being honest I would be [Poor language removed] devastated if it happened. Them winning a sporadic cup once in a while is bad enough but winning the title you would never hear the end of it, my missus wouldn't let me sleep for years if it happened. Them winning the title "for the good of the city" is like saying Chelsea winning the title "is for the good of London or Man City winning the title "for the good of Manchester". Ask the Arsenal fans or Man Utd fans whether they will want to line the streets to watch their rivals parade the title cos of the RS do win it I won't be anywhere near the parade clapping like some arsehole who "supports the city" more than a club.

For certain? What are you talking about?! City will have a full squad and have no other distractions...
