What if Liverpool won the title?

They're actually going to do it, aren't they? lol

I see nothing to suggest they won't win it. Neither City nor Chelsea will beat them at Anfield and that's what they need to do, plus I see us taking at least a point off of City at Goodison.

For the RS to not win the league now they'll have to lose two games unexpectedly, and look at their fixtures... they've got West Ham, Norwich who they always smash, and Palace away, then City, Chelsea and Newcastle at home - and all that plus have either Chelsea or City (preferably Chelsea but really don't care at this point!) take near maximum points.

Who thought Villa would lose at home to Palace yet beat Arsenal away and Chelsea and City at home? did anyone think Palace would outplay and beat Chelsea? it wouldn't surprise me if they lost this weekend. If I could pick any manager in the world to set up and stifle a team away from home I'd pick Mourinho, another factor is that the Liverpool V Man City game will be 25 years since Hillsborough so the emotion of it could get the better of them, in particular Stevie Starfish who sadly lost his cousin.

Not saying they don't have a choice just saying it's not as straightforward as you're making out.

Ano mate but they've been frighteningly consistent this season, especially at home. Plus they are scoring for fun... nearly 50 goals between Suarez and Sturridge is incredible.

... maybe it's all set up for Torres to come back to haunt them ...

I hate the RS as much as anyone and just for the moment im just not bothering thinking about it! Im to wrapped up in what we can acheive this season and iv said before i would take them winning the league if it meant us getting 4th

I'd say it's more likely to have the complete opposite effect and make them have a blinder

The worst ever would be them winning it thanks to us beating City, then no doubt losing to Hull on the final day and finishing fifth. Domestos if so.

When they lost against Wimbledon in the FA Cup final, there were several murders in Liverpool directly after the match. Should they fail to win the league, I hope they will control their impulses.

I hate it when neutrals say they "would love Liverpool to win the league", it makes me physically sick. That they "grew up when Liverpool were dominant" and they "prefer them to win over man city, or chelsea".

..... :(

If it comes down to the last day and they fail to win it you can guarantee their will be some kind of riot outside the pit

You're not considering the pressure they will feel now they are top and have already been crowned the champions. Oddly they are now favourites to win it. Everyone is talking about it and they never had this before. It was always ' can they win it '...... They were always chasing the pack before but now they have no one to chase. Its completely different ball game now, make no mistake.

Now its more ' when they win it '. The nerves will set in and they have 6 games now to win it. You telling me that in those 6 games, everything will go their way ?

Little scenarios like, hitting a post, a wrongly judged offside call, a dissallowed goal, a pen miss or a 0-0 with 5 minutes to play and needing to win....... all these little things could creep into their mindset and throw it all off completely.

RS..... over to you

Liverpool have won it. It was won yesterday. That's the narrative. I'll take that.

Theirs to loose now, the pressure will start to mount.

I'm glad they went top now rather than a few weeks later, as it gives them more time to panic and crumble under the pressure

Exactly. They've won it. It's over. LibpoolFC - 32 game Champions of England.

Now they just have the small task of proving it over the last 6 games when, mathematically, it's still in City's hands...funnily enough.

I have to hand it to them. I didn't think they could do it. But here they are Champions of English football.
