Glad to hear about the change in her condition monty. Hope she'll be able to give you and the family some more happy moments.(y)

I feel happier now than I have for a long time Dutch, the wife gets her cancer results on Thursday so I hope for once we are on a roll mate(y)

I completley understand your feelings mate. my collie is 15 and is having problems, mainly her hips (laminate flooring dosn't help). think this year i must be the majority owner of the vets.
just make sure every night i give her extra fuss, cos i know her time is getting nearer.

I do that with Polly and the wife...................she's ace as well but don't tell her I said so:lol:

Glad to read things are a little brighter, Monty. With animals, as with people, our feelings are complicated - our love for them is genuine but nontheless, we know that when they're gone it's we who will suffer the loss - they'll be at peace. I always hate the thought of others suffering, same as I'd hate to be suffering myself, & fully empathise with your compassion for your dog leading you to consider the course of last resort. I hope Polly continues her recent improvement.

Cheers for that Dennis, she ate boiled chicken, as per Bluelass's recipe tonight and it slid down with a relish. The drugs she's had today seem to have helped her pick up, only time will tell. That said the stick I'm getting is worth it, if she was still as poorly as she was yesterday I'd still have the same opinion.............its nice to be proved wrong I must say(y)

Thanks lads, I've just got back from the supermarket, bought her a bit of steak, cut it up thinly seasoned it and cooked it in the wok and she ate it only to throw up leaving my wife and daughter in tears, I've come up stairs to 'be by myself' if you know what I mean

Monts, You know I think you're ace, but are you sure that was an appropriate time?

Bumped this read again for one good reason, I'm pissed.

Today, after a year of hell the wife was given a total all clear from the hospital following the removal of that huge tumour. It was cancerous but a very low grade cancer. The specialist have kept it for reference it was that rare. They will monitor her for the next few years but the surgeon is as sure as he can be that it is all out, there is a low chance it may just return as they don't even know what causes this variety of tumour..............................great reason to get pissed, Crimbo came early today!

I raise a glass to that Monts, and don't forget to go out and have a few with her when she is fit. Pleased as punch for you both.
