What Did You Last Eat Thread

Had the misfortune today to go to a Greene King pub for a meal for a birthday celebration. I had steak and ale pie, chips and gravy. If you put the peas in a gun you could easily kill they were that hard. Diamonds are no longer the hardest known natural substance in earth, my chips were. You could have used the pastry from my pie as a substitute for pavement flags. The 'steak', what there there was of it, appeared to be a prototype for a new meat flavoured everlasting chewing gum.

To cap it all off the plate was that hot it appeared to have been newly fired from a kiln oven. Nuked in a microwave for God knows how long, possibly the worst meal I've ever had the misfortune to eat. The gravy was nice though. I'm bloody starving.

At a farm butchers yesterday and was recommended this.
Osso buco. Fraction of the price of silverside/topside but jeez the taste it packed. House still smells of old fashioned roast beef 3 hours later.😍
Marinated in cheap red wine for an hour to get the dark colour then a 4 hour slow roast.
Once again our theory of cheaper cuts taste best is proven true.....if bought from a proper butcher of course. Incredible gravy too.
10 quid😅 Fish and chips and peas for one is more20260322_171300.webp20260322_201530.webp🤬
