Well everyone calls them dubstep and they both have dubstep listed under the "genre" section on their wikipedia pages, so that's why I said they were dubstep. Damon would be proud.
But yeah, I'll take your word for it BLF. As I said everyone I know who classes themselves as a dubstep fan, is not a Skrillex or DeafMousse fan.
Oh they will no doubt have elements of Dubstep, and some people will probably class them as Dubstep generally. For someone like you who doesn't really know Dubstep, with all this mainstream crap everywhere it's really hard to find the good stuff because it's been diluted so much with all the bad.
The thing is with electronic music is it's quite difficult to identify the differences between genres, there's a lot of confusion over the whole Sub-Genre stuff (you only need to look at some of the ridiculous arguaments on YouTube for evidence). For a song to be classed as Dubstep it mainly just needs to be around 140 BPM, which is a lot slower than most music.
I sort of fell out of the way Dubstep was moving, it caught on and then moved VERY fast, and I only have a few producers who I mainly listen to, so someone else on here may be better equipped to talk about it as a whole.
